Good phone

The Samsung Galaxy S Captivate is a very intriguing phone for AT&T Customers. The phone's 4" Super AMOLED screen is far beyond any other phone screen I have used; however, when put up against the Iphone's Retina display the text was a little bit clearer on the Iphone because of the increased resolution on a smaller screen for the Iphone. I played a movie on both and found the Captivate's screen to outperform the Iphone's greatly. The 1ghz Hummingbird processor is very quick ,but at times struggles with some simple things like flipping through your apps. The Browser is amazing and is much better than other mobile browsers that I have used because of its speed and its abilities. The biggest Con to the Captivate is the lack of Android 2.2 (Android's newest firmware; AKA Froyo) which would give the phone the JIT compiler, Flash Support, and hopefully a GPS fix which has been a problem from the beginning. All in all, the Captivate is a phenomenal phone and with the new update bound to come eventually the phone will surpass many expectations.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, powerful, quick
Cons: needs froyo, no front-facing camera, no fm radio, at&t bloatware
I would recommend this to a friend!

Kies is a huge liability

Like the phone itself, but the ability to synch with Outlook and other desktop services is primitive, if you can get the services to work at all.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: kies software
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Switched Over From Blackberry

My first Android phone; switched over from a 2 year old Blackberry Curve. Very nice design and great performance. My biggest dissapointment is Samsung not providing native sync software to allow syncing the phone with Microsoft Outlook and not providing Notes and Task applications on the phone. I've found some solutions in the Android Market but they are clumsy in comparison to the Blackberry Desktop Manager.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, fast processor
Cons: no sync software
I would recommend this to a friend!
