The router would not sync the Wi-Fi on anything in our house. It lit up like it was putting out a signal but nothing worked after putting in the system ID and password.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am used to commercial routers and the strenuous process of setting up a router line by line, but with this router it was so easy. The previous router I had was an older Netgear but it had issues in itself and was not as easy to set up. The Nighthawk RS500 only needs setup of one network, something that I am very glad to see. No more single frequency networks as on previous routers. The app is pretty nice too, but I would like to see if this can be controlled and accessed without the need of an app. Otherwise this is a great router with nice support for the latest Wifi versions.

Basic wifi7 upgrade outdated router no longer supported. Serves only a few devices and TV well. 100ft across the house, streaming can be a bit flaky, but I'm not fussy. Easy setup.

Not as happy with this router as I had hoped. Based on reviews and improvements in technology, I thought it would have performed better. Coverage is not as strong in our 1600 sq ft home and about the same as our last router that we had for over 8 years. I have also had issues adding my printer to the network and wireless printing. The phone app to change settings on the router is outdated and clunky. It often freezes and lags and you need to close the app and reload sometimes. I would consider other options out there and mesh routers. I'm hesitant to recommend the RS300 to others since I have not had good experiences like our previous Netgear router.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
