Nice little corner tiny store in the middle of a quiet town. Really good.

Great sound, poor comfort

After upgrading from my 7-year-old WH-1000XM3, I immediately noticed comfort issues with the new WH-1000XM6. The ear pads feel warmer with less ventilation, and my ears heat up far quicker than they ever did with the XM3. The fit is also too snug — the clamping force is strong enough that I get a headache after about 15 minutes. Maybe it’s because I have larger ears or wear glasses, but this was never an issue with the XM3.
The sound and ANC are phenomenal, but the overall comfort is a big step down for me, especially at this price point. I really wanted to keep the XM6, but after two weeks of regular use, the clamping force still hadn’t eased up. I exchanged them for the Sennheiser Momentum 4, which are wonderful headphones, but their ANC is weak and they’re on the heavier side. I’ll likely return them and go for the XM4, which might be the best balance of comfort, ANC, sound, and build quality for my ears.
One day, I hope one of these premium headphone brands releases a model with a decent mic that doesn’t make you sound like you’re talking through a walkie-talkie.

Its Alright

Im torn between liking it and not. Functionally there is nothing wrong with it, the predecessor is somewhat just as good however, and I found it mich more comfortable.
The one thing that breaks this one for me as not being the definitive winner, is the shape. Its designed for unusually small heads, so much so that it aches if kept on for a bit of time, and uncomfortable otherwise. Its simply too tight, the width is intended to ensure a snug fit and seal, but there is such thing as too much, such that the cups give off too much pressure around the ears.
The design is attributed to shifting the product into a compactable format. It appears people complained too much about the lack of foldability of its predecessor. Now they got it, but traded it for comfort. Sony made the wrong choice on this one.

Perfect Headphones

They made everything perfect. The Sony XM6 fixed every issue with the XM5. The magnetic case, the battery life, the software, everything. I would say the only issue would be the price. However, I purchased mine during black Friday sales, so I got it $100 off. If you have a budget to afford this, I would.

Drops calls. Every time.

Very comfortable over the top Bluetooth headphones...
BUT:
- They’ve dropped EVERY call I’ve taken using the headphones. Why?
- The case has the “Left” & “Right” inverted, such that the headphones need to be placed in unintuitively.
I can get used to the case configuration (although why make something like this complicated?), but can’t rely on unreliable tech that drops calls. I will be returning them for a better model.

Comfortable headphone

The noise canceling is great, and the dynamic range is impressive. You can hear almost all the harmonies clearly without distractions, which is excellent for headphones in this price range. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who enjoys listening to music.
The only downside, in my opinion, is the microphone. It’s not strong enough to handle outdoor use with background noise, so I usually have to take the headphones off and use my phone instead.

Overpriced and uncomfortable

500$ for these is way too much. Too base heavy in their sound and they cheap as hell in terms of durability I do NOT hold out much hope for these. Not to mention after 30 min of wearing they really REALLLY hurt my right ear. That probably why the aftermarket for replacement ear pads is so huge for these, It must be a driver or something behind the ear pad that is poking out. For 500$ Sony should have done a better job on the comfort aspect. The fit and finish is ok but like I said pretty cheap. The only place these headphones shine is noise cancellation which is pretty good. I am seriously considering taking these back, they are at best worth may 250-300$ certainly not 500, and after the amazing XM400 these are a HUGE let down. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of review videos and I am forced to conclude that the reviewers were getting a kickback, whcih is a little sad for the consumer. Do yourself a favor and wait until these drop to half price because they will once they have been out for about a year.
