I started using my flex shaft right out of the package. It's built a lot better than my other brand that failed. It's quieter by far.

I used for nearly an hour with a diamond wheel removing tile grout. Worked flawlessly. Very satisfied with performance

Dremel flex shaft attachment

I had recently bought a new cordless Dremel tool, with the flex shaft attachment. While I haven't used the tool extensively yet, it seems to perform very well and the flex shaft is very handy for tight spots. Attaching it is easy, once you do it a couple times, and the tool attachments are easily changed. Overall, I'm very pleased with how this attachment performs and I would recommend it to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
