Roku easy, simple and great!

I bought my Roku because my smart tv was not so smart anymore. The Roku express 4K+ was extremely easy to setup and simple instructions to have the remote feature control my tv as well. Overall the Roku is Great to use and definitely buying more for the rest of my household.

It's ok

Just I bought an Express 4K+, when I turn the TV on with itthe TV comes in but not the Roku, i need to unplug it to get it to come in the home screen. Tried everything. Also if I'm watching why would it all me if I'm still watching.
So frustrating.

If your Roku is plugged into a USB port on your TV for power, try plugging it in with an external power cord. Sometimes the USB connection will power on your Roku player slower than a wall outlet, since it must wait for the TV to wake up first. You make want to try using a different HDMI port or a different cable, to ensure that there is not an HDMI handshake error.

It also sounds like you might have a feature enabled called "Bandwidth Saver". This will prompt you to confirm that you are still watching after 4 hours. But you can easily disable this feature using the steps below:

Press Home home button on Roku remote on your Roku remote >> Scroll and select Settings >> Select Network >> Select Bandwidth saver >> Choose Off

Note: Some streaming channels employ their own mechanism to cease data usage after a specific period of inactivity, such as Netflix. These features will not be affected when you disable Bandwidth Saver.

Do not understand the problem

This is my third Roku. It is the first one I have had a problem with. Every time I turn the tv on the tv comes on but no Roku. I have to unplug the Roku and plug it back in sometimes more than once. I am not positive which is the problem the electric or the tv outlet. I suspect the electric because most often this is the one to fix the problem.

Hi Pat, this is certainly not the kind of experience we'd hope for you to have and we're here to help!

First, always be sure to use the HDMI cable and power cord that come included with your player as not all cables are created equally.

The Roku Express 4K+ is designed to work work with any television with an HDMI connection. Since you've tried multiple HDMI ports on the TV, we'd recommend trying a different TV in an attempt to isolate the issue.

The device can be plugged into your TV's USB port for power or a wall outlet. If you're currently using the TV as your power source, try plugging the device into a wall outlet instead.

Finally, be sure that your remote has a fresh set of new batteries, just in case.

Two Issues

1. I must push the power button two or three times for the unit to start up. Once started, all button functions are properly responsive. 2. Audio and Video often are not synced. Audio has a slight delay and it is annoying. I have other ROKU stick devices that do not exhibit this issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The remote behavior you described can sometimes occur if the batteries in your remote are running low. Try exchanging them for a fresh set to see if this helps.

If that’s not the cause, try going through the TV setup screen again. But try skipping the first option that works—there are often multiple settings for each brand of TV and a different setting might work better for you.

Regarding the audio sync, if you're using an AVR and seeing this issue, consult your user guide for resolving. This may be known as "audio sync" or "lip-sync," depending on the manufacturer. So much to choose from!

Bought the cheapest one first to check it out. Immediately liked it. I have DirecTV and keeping it for a few different reasons but, Roku is my go to TV experience. It has everything satellite TV has and tons more. You can watch 90% or more of it for FREE. You can subscribe to some for a very reasonable price much cheaper than satellite or cable.

Tired of paying outrageous prices for cable TV, I purchased 3 Roku Express 4K+. For the most part it did the job, however I did have problems with two of the units. Roku allowed us to return them and get new ones.
I would recommend this to a friend!
