I have used a variety of modems and routers over the years. Recently I updated my modem and was not getting the speed throughput contracted. I looked at the reviews and saw the ROG GR-axe16000. After comparing the choice came down to two distinct routers. The GT-AXE 16000 was a no brainer. Dual multi-gig ports let me use the full force of my ROG Crosshair VIII motherboard with its 5Ge port and I saw the more than doubling of my download speeds after setting it up. Multiple bands, up to 6G, and enough power to handle the whole family without slowing anything down is more than expected. The price was decent considering the options and availability of this and other units out there. Very happy with the decision to upgrade to ROG.

Definitely best router I’ve ever owned my previous router gave up after 30 days different brand tech-support won’t even go there was skeptical at first due to the price but I am so glad I got this router solved 100% of all my problems. I have fantastic Wi-Fi range. In fact I can connect to my Wi-Fi two houses down. It’s totally unreal.
Speed has definitely increased. I’m on a one gigabyte plane and when I run Wi-Fi test on my cell phone, I’m getting a hair over one gigabyte.

I live in a 3200 sq ft home with about 50 WiFi devices including outdoor TVs and pool controllers. My current Asus router is a RU88 and about 10 years old. It served me well but had range issues with the outdoor devices. I needed to modernize and chose the AXE16000 for its new features and supposed increased range. The TVs are fine but it completely fails to reach the pool control. I am not a gamer and perhaps other Asus routers may have been a better choice. I am looking at building an AImesh with a Zen BD 5 outdoor extender. I like the products and especially the app.
