Decent phone but no visual voicemail

Without knowing what carrier you are using or how you purchased the device, the first step would be to ensure you have downloaded the voicemail app separate from the phone app on your device. If you have done that and have gone through the steps, the next step to take would be to reach out to your carrier and ensure that they support visual voicemail and that it is connected to your device.
