Volume control doesn't work, neither does the app
on July 24, 2023
Posted by: Volume not working
I've just purchased Endurance Peak 3 today. The Quick start guide shows tap once on right ear plays/pauses whilst tap twice is skip track. There's no guidance in the QSG for volume control. On this website it says the same gestures will change volume up and down respectively. I'm finding that the tapping once or twice on the right ear does indeed play or pause music. I figured I could customise the controls using the app to enable volume control. However, after installing the app I can't get past the 'My Products' screen. The headphones are showing but I can't go any further. Very annoying and quite surprising that a company like JBL would produce such a poor UX.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve, and we'll make sure to share your feedback with the appropriate team. We recommend uninstalling the JBL Headphones App, rebooting your phone, pairing your JBL Endurance Peak 3 to your phone, and downloading the JBL Headphones App again. To enable volume control on your Peak 3, open your JBL Headphones App, Tap "JBL Endurance Peak 3", go to "Gestures" and select your preferred settings on the App.

Been using this about a month now. Use it on bike rides and hikes. Sound is good, not great. Love the ability to answer and make phone calls from them. I will continue to use them.

Nice but could be better.

I am a big fan of JBL Flip speaker, so when I shopped around ear buds I chose this product hoping this will be another of my favorite electronics. I was disappointed. it works good enough for daily uses. However, missing of a noise cancellation function was to me fatal (though I found it's not included in this product after I purchased). The bluetooth communication is uneven. There's a slight time lag in the tap operation of volume, on-off and other controls. Overall I don't recommend this product.

A review after one year of heavy usage.

I bought the JBL Endurance Peak 2 over a year ago. I wear them 4 days a week for running and working around the house and yard. The quality of the earbuds is excellent. Battery life is good, I charge them each night The ear hook is still firm, never did an earbud drop off the ear. The personalized red, white, and blue design is bright and still looks new.

Very Disappointed: Poor Sound Quality, No Bass

Very disappointed with the poor sound quality and lack of lower frequencies. I enjoyed a similar model of JBL sport headphones that I bought 5 or 6 years ago that had good sound quality and lower range, until the battery died suddenly. The new JBL Endurance Peak 3 has an exclusively high-range tinny crappy sound quality. The only way to achieve a bearable sound quality & volume with a tiny bit of bass is to press the buds deep into the ear canal with a nearly painful amount of force, which usually triggers the tap controls.

These are so annoying, I'll be cleaning or walking around, one slight movement causes the bud to pause. While working out they beep and pause all the time.

Great idea, but please use tactile buttons.

The headphones are pretty a-ok.
Controls could be customized better. (e.g. for configuration only left, only right, both instead of just separate controls, no matter what side is used)
Biggest problem: The capacitive buttons get triggered by water. Which is a small problem for headphones that are supposed to be - you know - waterproof.
So they're basically unusable with rain, showers, or swimming.

EP3

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Endurance Peak 3 is a comfortable fit. They fit into and in my ear just right. No irritation to my ears when working out, jogging or just listening to music. With the ambient sound control it makes the quality of the music better. The touch controls takes a bit to get use to, but work fine. The only draw back with EP3 is when I'm on call the volume is low. I can barely hear the caller. I've tried everything. But I can not figure out how to make the call volume go up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We appreciate your feedback on our JBL Endurance Peak 3. The default volume control for this product is on the right earbud. Tap once for volume up and twice for volume down. You may also change the gestures for each earbud via the JBL Headphones App. If you have any questions or concerns about your device, please contact our customer support.
