[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love all the features and how fast and smooth the 22 Ultra is. Also love the color because it says it's green but it's more teal.

ATT Battery DRAIN

I have, just looked up on Samsung's site which apparently I registered the Samsung Blackjack to... OKAY, don't remember doing that, but weird. SO, it's been nearly if not over 20 SAMSUNG devices Mostly tablets and phones. Took a little break from them after Note 9, came back for the S22 Ultra, and glad I did. OVERALL, I think the phone's great, so much so, I bought two and opened up a new line. Since WHY NOT. Well in seriousness, I moved states from Illinois to Mississippi, and have a bit of a fixer upper for a house and found it SUPER frustrating that no one would pick up their phone for me, since the area code was too alien for them. SO... Thought I should cave in and get a second phone.
Pros:
-Size, this thing is massive, but most of the phones I've owned from Samsung, save for a few, have been NOTE Lines. It's not until now does it feel comfy to write on this phone since it's JUST big enough that it's like an elongated memo pad. Where before they were too small so you were wrestling for screen space with your thumb.
-Cameras, never had this good of a camera system on a phone. My one dog is greatly injured and has pins in her legs, and it was 2:30am, didn't want to wake her. Had one light on in the living room, which was behind me and her, sat down in front of her cage to sanp a photo of her sleeping on her cage mounted waterbowl. That picture came out looking like there was studio lighting evenly lighting everything. It was impressive. You could zoom in and see every hair on her adorable smooshed face thanks to the inflatable e-collar she needs to wear.
-S-Pen is still the best pen. I've tried iPad Pros, Wacom AES devices like the LG V60, n-Trig/MPP 2.0 devices like Surfacebook 2 and Lenovo's tablet. I never used the bluetooth feature, have played with them on the 9 and the Tab S6 and 7 Plus, never liked them. Have not tried it on the 8 Plus or 22 Ultra. Just the fact you don't have to charge it is what works for me.
Cons:
-Battery; ah yes Samsung's old problem, still a problem since I've ever had them. The tablets hide this flaw quite well due to their silly huge batteries. The issue, SAMSUNG SOFTWARE. For every visible samsung app you see, there is literally half a dozen hidden apps you can't adjust or turn off. How do I know this? I've rooted and rummaged around MANY of Samsung devices, for the longest time, there wasn't a time I wouldn't root a device. Usually to put a clean AOSP ROM on it. I think the other problem is MODERN android has made it harder for the end user to take control of their apps. So, harder to say: "Don't Run In the Background" for something like WAZE which decides it ALWAYS needs to be running. Or ATT doing away with the 5G toggle switch. ON 5G Unlocked phones you can USUALLY turn off 5G. Now for me, I want it off since, 5G is so under-matured here that it's literally worse than 4G, in speed and overall function. BUT it takes up so much more energy to keep alive. I've cut the resolution down to 720, turned off the high refresh rate since I can never tell the difference, made everything dark or pure black, since I'm not new to this OLED game. Wished features like LOCATION, WIFI, DATA, etc would dynamically turn on and off. Usued to know how to use Taskr a 3rd party app to do this. Haven't used them in ages.
-S-Pen still has a lot of lag in 3rd party drawing, note taking apps. Open up S-Note and it seems magical and seamless. Open up my favorite note taking app; Inkcredible Pro, and the lag is there. Wished the "AI" trick was across board.
-This is old by now by 3 or so generations; WHY DID YOU GET RID OF THE MICRO SD CARD SLOT? There's NO EXCUSE FOR IT. You already charge an arm and a leg for this device, so WHY GET RID OF THE MICRO SD CARD SLOT? The headphone jack is a battle I've given up, but the SD CARD slot, unnecessary casualty. I've seen the inside of this phone, you had/have room for it.
Conclusion:
I'm getting tired, so I'll wrap this up. Yes, as usual the best that Samsung offers (since the Fold are still firmly in gimmick territory for me), is still great.
