Like all new electronics and improvements there is one thing taken out and Samsung needs to put back. The AOD screen is to washed out. There is no control to brighten up the screen when trying to see the time or charging status in the dark.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus stands out as a flagship model that pushes the boundaries of modern smartphones, combining a sleek design with exceptional performance. Here's an in-depth review of the phone’s key features and performance:
Design and Build
The Galaxy S24 Plus has a premium look and feel, continuing Samsung’s tradition of crafting elegant smartphones. The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display is surrounded by thin bezels, offering an immersive viewing experience. The glass back with a matte finish minimizes fingerprints, and the overall build feels sturdy yet lightweight in hand. With its IP68 water and dust resistance, it's well-protected for daily use and occasional mishaps.
Display
Samsung remains a leader in display technology, and the S24 Plus does not disappoint. The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, providing fluid scrolling and gaming experiences. With a resolution of 3200 x 1440, colors are vibrant, contrast is deep, and brightness levels are impressive, even under direct sunlight. It also supports HDR10+, making it ideal for watching high-definition content.
Performance
Powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (in the US) or the Exynos 2400 (in global markets), the Galaxy S24 Plus handles multitasking, gaming, and power-intensive applications effortlessly. The device comes with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance with minimal lag. Whether you’re streaming, gaming, or running multiple apps, the S24 Plus delivers top-tier performance.
Camera System
Samsung has upgraded the camera system on the S24 Plus. The triple camera setup consists of:
Main Camera: 50MP with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
Ultra-wide Camera: 12MP
Telephoto Lens: 10MP with 3x optical zoom and OIS
The camera excels in various lighting conditions, capturing crisp, detailed photos with accurate colors. Night photography has improved significantly due to enhanced AI image processing. The zoom capability is excellent, offering high-quality images even at 30x digital zoom. The 12MP front-facing camera also provides sharp, natural-looking selfies, and video calls are clear.
Battery Life
With a 4,800mAh battery, the S24 Plus provides solid battery life, easily lasting a full day with moderate to heavy use. The adaptive refresh rate and power-efficient chipset contribute to better power management. It supports 45W fast charging, allowing you to go from 0% to 50% in about 30 minutes. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging features are also available, adding to the phone's versatility.
Software
Running on Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6.0 skin, the Galaxy S24 Plus offers a clean, intuitive user experience. Samsung has streamlined the UI, making it easier to navigate, and the customizations offer flexibility in how you use the phone. Samsung Knox ensures security, and with a promise of up to four years of Android updates, the phone will remain current for several years.

While it comes with a premium price tag, it justifies the cost through top-notch performance, longevity with software updates, and a feature set that can compete with any flagship on the market.
If you're looking for a phone that balances power, aesthetics, and cutting-edge technology, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus should definitely be on your list.
Outstanding phone! Best bang for the buck. While the S24 base model is smaller / lighter, it's not as futureproof with only 8GB RAM and a 4000 battery capacity. While the S24 Ultra is more futureproof (better camera and slightly larger battery), it's larger and much heavier.
The S24+ hits the sweetspot, offering great futureproof capabilities and a reasonable size and weight.
