I bought the Tripp Lite surge protector based on the recommendation and related detailed article on surge protectors on the Wirecutter site. The research indicates that having a protector that shuts down when it is no longer functional is the safest way to protect your equipment. Then you know that it is time to replace it because (surprise!) they do not last forever. Also the 10 outlets provide plenty of connectivity and the equipment coverage provides some peace of mind. It's all good.

Tripp Lite has don it again. We have several Tripp lite surge protectors that we have in use for 8 to 10 years. We needed another one for a mountain cabin so we tried two other brands (no Tripp Lite available locally) and returned them because the outlets were too close for the plug ins and their warranty was not as good a Tripp-Lite.. The bottom line is if you want a quality product with good warranty, get a Tripp-Lite

Bought 2 units after getting a surge of some sort that blew out my TV, Blu-Ray, Firestick, and Receiver box. Had my old protectors for years - still lit up and providing power...I did not know that just because they provided power, they were not protecting my things. That's why I looked for another protector that tells me truly - when the lights go out - YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION. I would have purchased new ones had I known this. Tripp-Lite does this and is one of not very many that I found.

I bought three (3) of these power surge protectors and I couldn't be happier. In my job, we use tripplite surge protectors and for a good reason- it is the best product. I researched this product for days and found it to be rated superior by a number of independent resources. The surge protector itself looks smart, it fits nicely, long cord and I have peace of mind knowing it will protect my valuable electronics.
