Using it with a Tablo DVR

I bought this to pair with a Tablo quad DVR. Works great and 1TB has plenty of storage capacity. Highly recommended!

I own 4...

I started with a 2TB about 4 years back, then another about six months later. Once that started running short I purchased a 4TB to add to the collection. Last year I added a 5TB but once again I'm running short so another 5TB it will be very soon. That's all above the 2TB I swapped the Laptop CD Rom drive for when I purchased a 1TB SSD for the operating system. What can I say, I need place to store stuff. ;-)

WD Passport Ultra Metal Blue edition

I have only possitive feedback regarding this model of Portable Memory/harddrive unit.
I have a earlyer model Wd passport Ultra Blue (1 Tb ) and had this since 5 years back now and still works perfect,no issues what so ever..as long you do the corect way to save information and when you remove the unit from Computer or Laptop. Now soon its time to upgrade my WD unit to bigger model maybe a 4 Gb and hope it will also work as his preaccessor that I have. I use the WD unit to massstore as backup and save Music in WAV sound format and tha takes huge amount of space same when I save my Youtube music Videos in MP4. Many people might say Why save in WAV formatinstaed of MP4 or MP3 that takes less space?? that of personal reasons and about sound 100% undistorted quality,! you dont get that with MP3 or MP4..and for this You need large ammount of storage capacity.!

I liked mine but...

I like mine, right up until it crashed with no notice. One day it is working fine the next it isn't recognized and my pc wants to format it...how do I recover my files from this?

No storage on a 1TB, never connects to computer

I've had to use a backend way to get it to connect to my computer, sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. It won't let me download anything to it, says not enough storage. Waste of money, total.
