Not connected with Mac OS Monterey

In the new update system on Mac OS Monterey suddenly my wd elements 1 terabyte is not working. Please fix it!!!

Some times not recognise

I bought this WD Elements 5TB to use for my backups, but unfortunatelly, on my macbook sometimes works fine and sometimes not. It's weird situation. Is there any firmware update to fix this problem. I don't trust this drive to keep important data anymore!

There can a few causes due to which the drive has behaving abnormally. Such causes include the faulty USB port of the drive or the computer, faulty USB cable of the drive or the drive itself may not be getting enough power to spin up and register on the computer to show up. Unsafe ejection of the drive during any read or write operation can also result in the corruption of the drive's partition.

If the test is unfortunately inconclusive and you just purchased the drive then you should be able to return it to the place of purchase. However, if you are past their return policy, you can create an RMA through WD and replace the drive under warranty if necessary.

Slow, but works OK, until it decides on its own, to disconnect from the computer! I use Macs so maybe that's the problem. Won't buy another WD.

Slow performance can be caused due to several factors like computer configuration, multiple applications running on the computer while trying to access or backup the data, fragmented disk which may also result in slow computer disk read capability, the total amount of data on a disk and the relative size of each file, encrypted backup or scanning of each file by anti-virus installed in the computer or USB port of the computer with which the drive is connected etc. We recommend avoiding USB hubs for external hard drives and therefore connect the drive directly to a USB 3.0 port on the computer.

Stopped working after 6 months of use

Bought 5tb external HDD 6 months back but all of sudden gave clicking noise and it stopped working completely .I have lost 3 tb of data in a flash .There is no use of such external drives with low performance and unsafe to keep your valuable data.. Never buy this particular product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two failed drives.

Please beware. I got the 2TB version because it was cheap. The first one failed within first two weeks, and the replacement drive I received overheats after 15 minutes.
I am now awaiting my third drive, of which I have very little hope for.

I had this for about a year and it failed on me. I have business customer and personal data on that I hopefully should be able to retrieve but very inconvenient. I have to purchase another device and an another hard drive . I prefer external hard drives but i might have to go to cloud . I also had a WD My Book. That one lasted me 8 years and now that one failed also. Anyone look into buying WD Element I would be very cautious. maybe a higher end one would work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hard drive is dead.

The hard drive became totally dead. I tried different cables and different computers, but it did not work. No proper support is available online. I was relying on that device as solid-state trouble-free, and I lost all the data that I have been collecting for years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
