Bought 3 alienware monitors, all came with scratches on the screen. The XG27AQDMG came in perfect condition, and I personally think the glossy woled is the perfect balance for an oled screen. Perfect black levels no matter the lighting conditions and the colors really pop.
ASUS really impressed me with these monitors. Has the usual text fringing issues most oleds have, but turning off cleartype fixes this almost entirely.
1. Very bad black crush (loss of detail in dark scenes) even when adjusting gamma or black levels. The glossy screen enhances this effect of loss of detail because the screen becomes a mirror.
2. Screen flickering (only in menus as far as I can tell) the screen flicker settings help in menus but cause micro stuttering in game. Changing to 10-bit colour does help a bit but not entirely. Dynamic contrast is cool but causes halo effects.
3. Text has a weird shadow effect and I’m seeing lots of things that are not text that have a red outline on one side me a green outline on the other. Very weird.
Otherwise it’s great and I wish all monitors had stands like this one that don’t get in the way of your mouse and keyboard.
Almost a perfect monitor. Don’t buy if you’re playing stuff that requires you to be able to see in dark areas. There’s lots of settings but they don’t fix the issue much.
so theres a review here stating false information of 1440p @ 240hz They are wrong due to not researching how to change settings.
To enable this 240hz @ 1440p Go to Nvidia control panel > change resolution > refresh rate 240Hz. It will automatically adjust to 240hz
Otherwise this display is a pleasure to look at and game on, picture quality is top notch amazing contrast/ colours night and day coming from ips 1080p 240hz..
is definitely worth it if you can get this onsale!
It's an amazing detailed gaming screen, I'm so happy with the upgrade and surprised at how much equipment came with the purchase, the stickers are the best part.
