Nice but won’t ignite

Trying to use it for the first time and it took 30 minutes to try and adjust everything for the igniter to work and actually spark. Now the left side I get a spark about every two tries and the right side I get a spark after about every fourth or fifth try. That’s the best it’s gonna be it looks like so going to deal with it

Just received the grill as a Father’s Day present. Quite impressed by the quality of the griddle so far although there were some stress marks on the grill surface that line up with the welds on the underside of the grill. I am hoping they go away after seasoning/use of the grill.
