Using black backlighting requires auto switch back to white backlight from 2:00am to 3:00am. If installed in a bedroom it is VERY annoying.

I wasn’t given a choice on what or which thermostat came with my new heat pump. I know I was charged for it tho. Programmable thermostats are absolutely worthless. Studies have shown that just setting your temp and leaving it saves far more energy than having it adjust during off hours. It’s no more useful than an old cheap mercury thermostat. I doubt I’ll ever use the remote WiFi access considering I have livestock and there will always be someone at the house to look after them. I could swap it for an old mercury thermostat and I wouldn’t miss any of the worthless bells and whistles. Eventually people will figure out that the old cheap ones were always better, and lasted longer.
