This new 9000 series thermostat is fantastic. My old thermostats were not backlight and with small screens it was challenging to read them and even worse to set or edit schedules. The screen on the 9000 is very easy to understand and edit instantly. The only dislike is the tiny receptacles for inserting the heating and AC wires during install. I found it almost impossible to insert them without forcing them in with pliers.
You don’t realize what you don’t have until you have it. This is so amazing. It keeps us informed in so many ways. And the ability to know what is happening while we are away only adds to the value.
This is the 3rd one that I have owned. I had two in my previous home. It looks sharp, allows for great programming. Has great remote access. You can log in and get your energy usage tracked. It also does not try changing things up on you. It just does as you program it and that is wonderful. Nest and ecobee can mind their own business. Just do what I want.
Works flawlessly, but the backing plate needs work

I like almost everything about this thermostat. Perfect functionality, perfect size, looks great, and it integrates perfectly with the app and with Alexa. We have one of these in each of two locations, making it easy to see what's going on in the other part of the country. The only thing I really don't like is the flimsy backing plate, which is far too thin, and the mating design with the main unit not only leaves it flopping around on the wall, but almost impossible to remove, if necessary, without feeling like it will break. Other thermostats have far more solid and secure methods of mounting with easily-pressed tabs to remove the main unit. Re-engineer the backing plate with serious solidity and easy, one-push unlocking, and this would be a 5-star winner.
Works great, but You need to set it to programmable if your installer did not already do so. Ours was set to not programmable - which I don’t know why that is even an option.
