The thermostat is very good and easy to set up and use. Unfortunately, like many others if you program it to cool or heat at a particular time it interprets that as meaning you want that temp by that time so it may start hours before to reach that temp by that time. I just want it to start toward that temp by that time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice unit but problems with temp below 35 degrees

. I purchased a TH9320WF5003 through an HVAC contractor that installed it and a new heat pump in May 2021. Works great for cooling. Issue 1: Not critical but if the unit is running and I disconnect the thermostat from wifi the thermostat will shut the heat pump off. The thermostat remains operational. The installer has checked the voltage and it is correct. More critical issue: The heat pump has a two-stage compressor plus aux heat. When the temp gets below around 35 degrees F, the thermostat properly activates the second stage and sometimes the aux heat. However, when the indoor temp gets near or at the setpoint, the thermostat shuts off any aux heat and/or second stage. This causes the indoor temp not to reach a point where the unit shuts off. As a result, it eventually goes into defrost mode, and cycles between single and two stage operation for 30-60 additional minutes until it somehow reaches a point where the thermostat is satisfied. Tech support this is normal for this thermostat and I should get a different thermostat if I'm not happy. This isn't normal to anyone I've spoken to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the ability to lay in bed or be out of the home and set the temperature! The thermostat has so many back ground colors you can choose from, which is really neat. It gives the inside temperature & humidity as well as outside. Can't go wrong with this one. The thermostat app must be connected to wifi. After that, you can be anywhere you have cell service and adjust it from home. Sometimes if I'm really lazy & comfortable in bed, I'll use the app to adjust it to my liking.
