This product has a heater on its top surface so that it always reads 2 degrees F higher than the real temperature. So if you want the room to be at 72 degrees, you have to set it for 74 degrees. On the front display it purports to give the outside temperature. This temperature seems to be from the location of the internet service provider, not my city, and it is always wrong sometimes by as much as 10 degrees. I tried changing the zip code registered on the Honeywell website but it has no effect. I also tried that in combination with taking the product off the wall and rebooting it, without success. So this thermostat sits on the wall in my living room giving out bogus information. You would think that somebody would try these things out before selling them.
We have a Wi-Fi 9000 in our condo and was super pleased with it, especially the ability to program it remotely. We really wanted one for our home, but were thrown off by the reality that our current thermostat didn't have a C-wire. We only had a three wire bundle. I didn't want to run power with an external cord up to the thermostat, but I had no easy access to the wiring in the wall behind it and the furnace is at some distance from the thermostat location. So putting in a C-wire was out of the question.
Fortunately I came across an article that informed me that I could switch the fan wire to the C-wire terminal and run the thermostat without a separate fan wire. I made the switch and hooked up the new thermostat and it works splendidly!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Thermostat - Terrible Wi-Fi Support!!

First, let me say that I love this thermostat. It does everything I need (auto changeover, color schemes, etc.). So why 1 star? I gave it one star because you shouldn't sell a Wi-Fi thermostat and say how great it is because of its Wi-Fi connectivity when the mytotalconnectcomfort.com server that controls the Wi-Fi is constantly down! Almost every time I go to change the thermostat settings via the phone app, the server is down. Multiple times! Beyond frustrating! Maybe they need some redundancy for the server to stop this from happening.
WIFI 9000THERM intermittently shuts down & reboots

Since I've had this installed, it intermittently shuts down & reboots. Installer (a very large & reputable home heating company) replaced this once but it still happens. The installer called Tech support and went through all the possible troubleshooting steps that both the company and Honeywell (Resideo) thought to do (voltage checks, etc). Still shuts down periodically & reboots --- I have a video of it happening! Just about fed up and worried that I'll have no heat at the worst time this winter
Great thermostats. Using them in two different homes. WiFi remote features allows user to monitor temperature and humidity in homes when away. Notifications sent by email when temperatures and humidity are outside of set parameters if programed by user.
I was concerned that my 89 yo mom would have difficulties using the touchscreen thermostat but she found it easy to make any changes outside what I had scheduled. Having the ability to change the screens color is also a plus for those who have vision issues. This is not an intimidating device for my senior.
