This thermostat was part of a new HVAC system installation. It has features similar to the unit it replaced but it not always reliable when connecting remotely via the smartphone app. Also, the temperature calibration is off by 2 degrees and I don’t see a way to adjust that.
Not all the TSTAT settings are available within the app, which is unfortunate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not smart, just WiFi

This thermostat is grossly overpriced. I actually still, years later, cannot understand why it is priced so high given its basic functionality. It’s not smart- just WiFi. The app allows you to control it but you can certainly get WiFi thermostats for much much cheaper. I was hoping for far more analytics, instead there are essentially 0. The monthly home energy report is useless IMO. Not even daily runtime is accessible. The app looks like it’s from 2007. Also, they don’t sell replacement backer plates for them so everyone that breaks it seems to just return it so I received 3 broken ones before I finally got one that was actually brand new. The only good thing- it doesn’t crash or give me any problems. Woo.

Wifi connectivity issues all the time.

Wifi keeps dropping out, constantly have to redo wifi setup. This unit will not auto reconnect ro wifi by itself. When it does connect to wifi and stays connected, it works fine. This thermostat only can connect in 2G wifi.

A nice and compact unit that works great and can look quite nice with customizable wallpapers. This was a replacement thermostat for an 8 year old Honeywell wifi model that still worked but just looked pretty boring. This unit was super easy to swap out with the old model. I’m not joking, from the time I removed the old unit and mounted with this one in its place it took no more then 10 minutes. Granted, the mounting holes were identical and the 5 wire hookup also connected to the same internal wire locations. After the actual system setup, wifi connection and testing that added another 20 minutes. What actually takes the most time is choosing the color for the background wallpaper, but that’s just the fun part. The display is well laid out with very crisp graphics that leave no doubt as to the current settings. The only knock, and it’s a very small knock, is learning the proper touch to use on the touch screen. Seems to like just the right amount of pressure to respond to. Not a biggie just something to learn. All in all a very nice upgrade and highly recommended.
I bought 3 to replace each thermostat in my house. They came "fully refurbished" and in excellent working condition. I think I saved $20 each doing so. Only reason for the 4 stars is that despite the items claim as being "fully refurbished," the factory resets were not performed on 2 of the 3 which leads me to believe they we not "fully refurbished." They both had a previous owner's name and wifi info still. Additionally, the same two came packaged differently from the third, leading me to further speculate that either a individual or an outsourced business has VERY different standards than those that handled the actually factory reset and nicely packaged thermostat. That thermostat actually appeared new vice the other two also required small cleaning. Over all it worked out and I'm glad I saved the $60 or so.
So far I don't have any complaints about this thermostat. I don't use the 7-Day Programmable portion so I can't say much about it. Instead, you can call me lazy but if needed I use my phone app to change my temperature settings even when I am in another room in my house. I love this capability and consider this to be the best feature of this thermostat. I have recommended this thermostat to my boyfriend and family members.
