The thermostat works very well with one exception. The touch screen does not react well. It requires pressing hard on the screen and it sometimes requires multiple touches before it reacts. The touch screen sensitivity needs improvement.

less than 5 months and im getting a message that the thermostat has encountered an error and needs to be replaced. but you are forced to pay a third party contractor to do a diagnostic eventhough the lcd screen says the thermostate needs to be replaced.

This is the best thermostat we ever had! It's easy to install too. I love the way i can use an app to run it. Also an awesome color display and a wide selection of adjustments under settings within the device. Thanks!

I wasn't going to get a wi-fi thermostat, but at the last minute I decided to do it and I am SO GLAD I did. One of my favorite things about the Honeywell Wi-Fi 9000 7-Day Programmable Thermostat is that I can read it on my iPhone without my glasses.
PRO: Wi-fi functionality is useful. Wouldn’t consider a thermostat without it. The scheduling function is done from my iPad. It’s intuitive and flexible. It allows you to change the background color scheme. CON: The touch screen can be unresponsive. WIERD: The screen bleaches out to white background for half an hour or so at 2:00am. The color returns shortly after. Not sure why. My best guess is that the thermostat is updating from the Honeywell server.

Product Shortfall - Doesn’t Like 5.0 Gh

Couldn’t connect to WiFi so made calls to customer support. During my second customer service call I learned this thermostat is designed to only work with 2.4 Gh. My cable company router was set to provide service on 2.4 Gh AND 5.0 Gh. This product can’t handle this, and when I tried to connect the thermostat to WiFi, connection failed. Message said that my password was invalid. It isn’t. Between my two calls I disconnected my iPad from WiFi and used the password to reconnect. No problems. So I’m left with trying to alter my router settings to not include 5.0 Gh - which I really don’t want to do because I may need that in the future. I wanted to bring a Nest thermostat to this home but allowed my HVAC company to talk me into installing your product. I shouldn’t have listened. I should also comment that programming using the keypad was cumbersome, kind of like a bad automobile navigation panel. Not trying to be funny.
