I am a retired heating and cooling service tech, I’ve installed hundreds and hundreds of thermostats over the years. Always liked Honeywell thermostats, this one is no different, love the Wi-Fi and Alexa connection To thermostat. To this point it has been an excellent thermostat both mechanically and aesthetically. Definitely recommend.
The features are good. The touch screen is the biggest problem. It is not like a normal touch screen that you can put your finger on and it registers the touch. For some reason this touch screen has to be pushed hard before it recognizes a finger (some times) or even touch pen, on it. This above all makes the product hard to use, even when doing something simple like changing the temp a few degrees.
Seems like a decent thermostat, but we keep getting error messages. Our service provider is working with the mfg to sort it out, but we might have to change to a different brand.
I bought two of these to replace two existing because I wanted the touch screen. What I found is both of the new ones cycle off or reboot many times throughout the day. I contacted customer support only to be told I should call an HVAC company. I was going to replace the one in our vacation home with one of these as well but believe I'll be better served in trying a different brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
