I never tried a "four-star delicious" cooker by Zojirushi, so I don't have a direct comparison, but I can tell you that this machine makes _noticeably superior_ rice to my old Neuro Fuzzy (which had a mere "three stars delicious" rating). Looks great, too.

Impossible to Clean

This machine makes great rice. It’s also the nicest looking cooker on the market. However it’s impossible to clean. Rice gunk gets caught everywhere including under gaskets and even with attempts at thorough cleans after every use, the rice gunk hides and ends up turning into a bacterial mess. The self clean function doesn’t get it clean either. Overall this is a big disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We try our best to make our rice cookers easy to clean while also making sure it will cook the best rice and be able to keep the rice fresh in keep warm. The inner lids of our rice cookers that use pressure have some extra nooks and crannies since they have a valve and filter and need a little extra time to clean compared to our regular rice cookers. The self clean function is designed to help dissipate any leftover scents when cooking rice with other ingredients that way the flavor of your next batch is not affected by any lingering smells.

I previously had another Zojirushki rice cooker that one day got up and walked to my daughter's home. So because I liked it so much I immediately went and purchased this one. I can tell you it makes great rice and also steel oats. I especially like the ability to set to timers. I have one set for the morning and the other for the evening meals. It also provides so many additional options for rice. It is easy to clean and maintain. It is expensive and I would be remised if I did not mention that however I do think it is worth the price.

Pressure IH Rice Cooker does wonders!

The Zojirushi Pressure IH rice cooker is doing some kind of magic in the machine. It almost feels like I’ve been eating rice the wrong way my entire life! The Zojirushi gets the consistency and texture perfect each time. I’ve used another pressure induction rice cooker brand before, and the results does not even come close. The new Rice Cooker makes a great addition to my collection of Zojirushi appliances. I’ve been waiting to get a Zojirushi rice cooker that had a modern design and I’m glad a US version of the latest Japan version has become available.

I’d not recommend this rice cooker to anyone. There’s a major design flaw, the rice is also not extraordinary for the price you paid. After each use, the cleaning is not straight forward.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was one of those that believed that rice cookers did not matter when cooking rice. I decided to put this to the test by cooking the same Koshi-Hikari rice from an Aroma rice cooker and this product.
I then placed both in a bowl and had my folks whom I considered "the elders" of rice expertise make a comparison. I did not tell them that one of the bowls were from Zojirushi rice cooker beforehand.
They immediately commented on how the rice from the Zojirushi was more pearlescent, a softer texture and the rice being fluffier.
