Sitting in this new chair my back requires I stand up less often than in my previous chair. The only improvement I suggest is that the lowest setting of the arms be a bit lower.
I had to replace my prior office chair (also from Staples) that was your traditional leather high-back office chair. The padding inside the seat wasn't holding up after 3 years of daily use and I was sitting mostly on the hard bottom surface of the seat causing back pain and a lot of "old man sounds" when I stood up. Thanks to the extended warranty I bought I was able to get this one "for free" since the cost was the same. I want to give 5 stars to the Asurion warranty folks. My claim was painless and I had my full payout within a few days. The mesh seating definitely sits 'cooler' than the leather seat. I noticed that quickly. The back/lumbar support is also very good. Having a headrest was a must-have and this one works great for me. (I'm 6' tall.) The mesh seating feels hard at first but I am getting used to it. I use it every day 7 days a week since it's in my home office. I sit for long periods and I noticed quickly that I don't have the aches and pains and moans and groans I had with my prior leather chair. Since I work from home I wear shorts most of the time so I have noticed the mesh is a bit "scratchy" at times on my legs but that is not the chair's fault. If I have sweats or jeans no issue at all. I bought the warranty again just in case there's an issue down the road. Not expecting anything but it provides an inexpensive bit of peace of mind.
