I specifically purchased this chair thinking the mesh seating and lumbar support would be good on my back while working in it 40+ hours per week. After one day in this chair my lower back was in excruciating pain. It was so hard - I felt like I had been sitting on the floor all day.
Overall satisfied with chair. Just as comfortable as when I tried it in the store. I recommend everyone test it out before buying a chair as you would a sofa. Instructions to assemble could have been better but I figured it out.
Two and a half weeks in this task chair creaks like crazy. Sit down creeeeaaaaak. Lean back creeaaak. Same happens when you readjust your position or put some weight on the armrests. Normally I wouldn't mind this but this is terrible if you're with roommates and you're trying to finish a paper in the night. I'm planning on grabbing WD40 next time I head out take this thing apart again and try seeing if it actually helps by applying to the metal parts and joints. On the other side this is a great chair! It's comfortable extremely comfortable. The neck rest and lumbar support are fantastic. As a taller person (6'2") the neck rest can be adjusted to a perfect height and it helps to remind me about posture. But the noise! Ugh the noise! How am I supposed to work at night like this!? This thing is going to change my sleep schedule.
I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable this chair is. I have lower back issues and have had massive problems sitting in chairs but I’ve been in this one in my home office all week and my back feels better than usual. I took the optional headrest off as it didn’t fit my needs. Happy with this purchase so far.
So far enjoying this chair as a replacement for a Tempur-Pedic Staples office chair which was 7+ years old. The Dexley seems well made is comfortable and has the lumber support/rigidity I was looking for to allow for all-day usage (which was the main problem with older chair). Bought during Thanksgiving sale and am quite happy so far with the purchase (although only been 3 weeks).
