I've had several office chairs and none have ever been particularly spectacular. The Emerge Vartan Gaming Chair is no exception. It's a quality chair by all means and it was relatively easy to assemble. For me (5'11") the lumbar pillow constantly slid too low and the neck pillow hits the back of my shoulders unless I lift it up (but it will slide down again despite a tight elastic strap). The arms turn out so they are not particularly in the way though my previous chair (Emerge Vortex) had arm rests that lifted up and got out of the way entirely (but did not articulate). The reclining function is actually quite nice for a quick stretch or nap but I would not use it for an extended period of time unless I was in VR or otherwise had a screen in front of my face. Overall very pleased with the purchase. Looks good so far the cushions have held up and the casters are particularly nice as they are rubber-coated (compared to most other chairs with hard plastic casters).
I'm a woman in my fifties I have several disabilities and not into much gaming I saw the chair in the store and tried it out. It was a very comfortable chair with lumbar support and support for my neck. Now I can sit at my dining table in comfort so I can eat with my family rather than staying by my self sitting in the living room in my motorized recliner. I'm planning on buying one for my daughter who is a gamer. I would recommend this to anyone not just Gamers.
