The back and headrest are more designed for average to tall people. The back is too tall for short people (under 5'-0") but it is still comfortable.

I gave this chair to my Dad for Father’s Day and he said he loved it. He put it together immediately and used it right away at is desk where he spends most of his time and said that it’s comfortable.

Half of this chair is really comfortable...the rest not so much.

I purchased this chair about five hours ago. I can tell already that I'll be returning it tomorrow. The mesh seat is quite comfy. However the lumbar isn't so much of a support as it is a barrier to sitting back comfortably in the chair. There was also an odd issue with attaching the back. There are holes for 5 bolts yet they only supply 3 bolts. The armrests are padded well but for me they didn't quite reach far enough back to be comfortable when reclining. They became more of a wrist rest. After sitting in it for a short amount of time my hips ache and it feels like my tailbone is being jammed. Again this is due to the lumbar pushing me forward more than it is the seat itself. When I get off the lumbar the seat is very comfortable. However as someone with back issues I need the support so this chair didn't work for me. I won't discount any positive reviews as everyone has a different view of comfortable. If you're 5'10" the headrest also hits awkwardly but not nearly as awkwardly as the Hekken I sat on in the store. That one flat out hit me in the shoulder blades and that was the end of my intention of purchasing it which is how I wound up with this chair instead. Again the seat itself is comfy and the armrest is nicely padded it's just everything else that wasn't to my liking.
