First the good: The chair mesh is reasonable especially at this price. The arm rests are relatively easy to adjust one you get out your screwdriver (this should not require a screwdriver though) the height is easily adjustable and well positioned. The Bad: This chair even when locked is angled WAY too far back. You should sit between a 90-100 degree bend. This is much closer to 110-115. Doesn't sound like much but it is a huge difference in posture. The lumbar support is not even helpful in those ranges. Aside from that there is no way to adjust the seat position relative to your back so if your legs are short or long you are out of luck. Also the tilt lock mechanism can actually bite your hand pretty good the way it slides in and out. Oh and one more thing the tension mechanism doesn't seem to actually do anything.
I bought this for my son who is starting college. We put it together (pretty easily) to try it out before he left. Now his younger brother is desperately hoping we get another one to use for home as his high school classes are online this year. My boys are fairly tall (over 6 feet) and they liked the scale of this chair. I’m only 5’3 and the head rest is a little tall for me but the chair size is fine. It feels like it has good lumbar support and the open design facilitates great airflow (which has been helpful in our recent heatwave).
I went to the store to try out the chair as I am 5’2” and have a hard time fitting in the average office chair. This chair has a standard size seat but it dips down in the front so it works for short people too. The back is exactly the right angle where you can sit all day without your back getting sore. The mesh all over helps the sweating as well great chair especially for the price
After owning this chair for just over a year it is hard to sit in comfortably anymore. The back does not lock upright in the locked position I sit at 120 degrees instead of 90. I am 6'5 220 lbs
