One of the first things that I noticed about it is when I picked up the box: IT'S HEAVY. I mean it's heavier than any other chair I've owned and this made me think that it was a high-quality well-built product. So far I think that's true but let's see how it holds up. I'll update this review in the future if it proves otherwise. The adjustable features are what I've been needing! The height adjustments in the arm rests helped me achieve better ergonomic postures when working. It's a firm rubber that provides good support but does have a bit of give when resting the point of my elbow down on it. I love that the arm rests are wide enough to easily hold my forearms without them slipping off the sides. The head rest adjustments aid in comfort when I want to recline and watch a something online. The cushion at the front of the seat is nice. It's thick and firm enough to support the legs/thighs but also soft enough that it doesn't feel obtrusive. I've owned several high-back executive chairs and those are decent for a few hours of use. I just find myself shift a lot in them trying to get comfortable. This is the best one for working a full 8-hour shift. With that said it's time for some criticisms! It would be great to have a bit more adjustments in arm rests; i.e forwards/backwards in/out (closer or further from the body). There's a big dip at the back of the seat/bottom of back rest which leaves the lowest part of the back feeling unsupported. Less taper in the seat and back design and/or some lower adjustments to the lumbar support may have resolved this issue. It would also be nice to have some forwards and backwards adjustments for the head rest. While I understand the mesh for breathability and hard plastic frame for rigidity it would also be nice to see more padding around the edge of the seat/back piece and more mid back and upper back support. Overall it still feels like a great chair for work and the only thing left to judge is its long-term durability.

I love the adjustment it leaves about 1.5 inches you can push out or in the side arms and the back chair to make it bigger and smaller. I also remember reading the review that someone's wife was upset because she - in the Dexley - at 5'4 couldn't 'cross her legs'. I am 6'1 280lb male who is very flexible and can cross my legs myself. So i'm sorry your wife isn't nimble - tell her to do some stretches. I for one LOVE this chair and it is VERY comfortable for my size. Even my 330lb friend sits in it and likes it though no - he cannot cross his legs.

Having an Aeron chair a couple of firms ago spoiled me for this type of chair. That said I did not want to spend $500+ for the Herman Miller. Read all reviews and watched several videos of the Dexley prior to purchase. Could not be happier with the new chair. Extremely comfortable with right amounts of tension and also give where needed. I do not like leather bonded leather or feaux leather as over time every single one of them starts falling apart... The mesh is the much better way to go. Have sat in Dexley for 8+ hour workdays the past week and no problems at all with strain or fatigue. Very adjustable... Maybe not quite as much as the Aeron but still great to find the right position. Great chair you won't be disappointed!
