It started hurting after a month. The lumbar was good but the seat cushion is split into 2 halves. Right in the middle where the 2 halves meet there is a seam that sticks up higher than the rest of the cushion and presses on my butt and thigh. After a few minutes it starts to hurt. I bought a fusion for it but it doesn't help at all. I wish It would have started hurting during my trial period but after a couple of months it started hurting at that seam. I've had many chairs from Staples and never had a problem but this one is horrible. My favorite one the memory foam chair finally broke after 10 years. That was a great chair and the Rutherford is really bad. The picture shows where the problem is and where it is harder than the other part of the cushion.
Very good price. Assembly was quick and fairly easy. A few others have mentioned the problem with the arms also being the structure for the back -- these were a bit difficult to place and secure and the arm rests/back move/make a popping sound if you lean into the back too much. The seat is very well-padded the lumbar area provides plenty of support and the high back gives upper back/shoulder support; chair is quite comfortable for all-day use. There were 3-5 days of VERY STRONG odors or VOC or off-gassing of materials after unpacking and assembly -- eyes nose and throat irritated.
