Color is disapointing

Nice printer, not the easiest to set up

I really like the way it prints. The set up was not so nice. I just fought with itself to get the wireless connection configured.

Impressed with my first color laser jet

Colors not as vivid as with an ink jet printer. Start up a bit slow. Duplex printing reasonably fast, but not impressively so. Major positives: no clogged ink jets. I've wasted lots of liquid ink trying to clear clogged ink jets; this color laserjet doesn't have that issue, a major plus. Colors seem adequate for normal office stuff, but not for photos; ink jets allowed making photo prints. Auxiliary paper tray a big plus; Allows multiple sheets / checks to be fed using the manual tray. Overall, a dedicated printer, no scan function; does the job without complaint.

Sharp printing but not good for pictures

The printer has sharp output. It works great through my wifi network. I tested remote printing from my iPhone in San Diego to my home in Reno. Color printing does a decent job but I cannot get the color on any of my computer monitors to the printer’s output to match. Photo printing is only just okay. I tried adjusting the settings through the browser on the printer with only minimal improvement. An inkjet printer or printing to a drug store would give better results.

Ok but not great

I don’t expect really vivid colors from a color laser. But this printer smears the red, and shows banding with regular paper. With thick paper, even setting for thick paper and using the MP tray ( and opening the back) the banding is very noticeable.

Never again

My late wife switched us to Brother, thought I'd buy this since I have an Inkjet and Brother program already. I regret buying it. The various set up options are fidgety, and take multiple attempts. Worse, it disconnects periodically, turning a simple print job into a re-install ordeal. Print quality is good. Last Brother I'll buy.
