I have thoroughly enjoyed my Four Star Henckels knife set, including a 7-inch chef's knife, for 35 years. But I wish I had bought the 8-inch knife years ago. My son has a 10-inch chef's knife and it's a bit unwieldy. The 8-inch is perfect – perfectly balanced, useful for almost all cutting situations. My son actually has two of them, also. I have given many Henckels Four-Star knife sets as wedding gifts, typically with the 7-inch chef's knife. From now on I will try to include the 8-inch instead.
