Great price for the extra 5TB space. That’s really what I need since I have a lot of videos. I have 2 WD Passports now. The older one is very reliable and works perfect, I figured I’ll go with the same brand.

The large capacity on the 5TB Passport is a win for image storage.
There are some issues when the device is left connected to computer (in sleep mode) overnight.
It seems to prefer being dismounted, before resuming work the next day.
I was happy with it over all and bought another one.

I like this product. My only problem was the cable that came with needed to be replaced. WD is in the process of replacing it. I had it set up with Time Machine, and often Time Machine couldn't find the disk. This is the only time I've ever had a problem with any WD external hard drive. I use them all time.

Replacement to my 2008 Western Digital Passport

I really like how small and light the Western Digital Passport is. The storage capacity is perfect for an external drive to my laptop. It was very easy and quick to set up, basically plug in and go. My only complaint is that it doesn't respond well once it goes to sleep. My old one was very quick to respond, all you had to do was click on the drive in Finder and was good to go. This new one doesn't respond, the only way to "wake" it up is to unplug/replug it in.
