Easy to use portable storage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is great, easy to use portable storage. I wanted something that I could use to backup all of my thousands of pictures that are stored across multiple devices. We have lost all pics from phones before and don’t want that to happen again.

WD My Passport - A great backup drive for Mac user

I purchased a "My Passport for Mac" to replace an earlier version of the product that worked well for 5 years. Installation of the HD and WD software was simple enough. Apple Time Machine software initially performed the backup routine but stopped working after a day or two. It could be that I created a software conflict between WD software and Time Machine during set-up or the something else. In any event, deleting the WD software from my Apple HD fixed the problem and the WD backup works flawlessly in the background. I would definitely buy the WD My Passport drive again.

We have identified a firmware issue that presents itself in very limited situations and can cause SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD V2, SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD V2, and WD My Passport SSD products to unexpectedly disconnect from a computer.
