Requires dual band router with 2.4ghz connectivity

Purchased this in 2023 and were very impressed with its very affordable features through the subscription service. Very satisfied until our internet provider, Spectrum, decided to change things up with a new router and we began to experience connectivity issues with the doorbell. After talking to both Roku and Spectrum, we discovered that the issue was with our Spectrum router. In short, if your router isn’t dual band, you will have issue connecting with this doorbell. Recently, I was revisiting Roku offerings hoping that their wireless doorbell could connect to 5g. The current wireless doorbell offering DB10005 says that it connects with both 2.4 and 5g, but after a conversation with an agent, found that the current offering still requires 2.4g and that the current unit offers no significant upgrades over the previous offerings. Very disappointing. I will finish by saying that we loved our Roku Wireless Doorbell with subscription until it didn’t anymore. I did say that I would recommend this to someone, but with the caveat that if they would need a dedicated 2.4g connection.

This frequency is more effective for connecting devices located farther away from the router, as it travels better through walls and obstacles. I am very satisfied with the unit and as I said a great unit for the price. My only suggestion would be to allow storing the videos on my computer and not have to pay for a yearly service.
