I bought this approximately a month ago. Up and running very quickly. Good, solid laptop, keyboard feels nice in use and is backlit. Does what I need and having opted for the i7 processor should give me a good few years service.
I’ve only just set up my computer and I’ve not really explored all it can do yet . I have had an HP laptop before and that’s why I stayed with the same brand. Ease of use and the graphics are so clear and a good brand to buy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m very happy with my HP laptop. It runs smoothly, starts up quickly, and handles everything I need with ease, whether it’s work, browsing, or streaming. The build quality feels solid, the screen is clear, and the battery life is reliable. Overall, it’s been a great experience using it, and I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a dependable and well-performing device.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The OmniBook 5’s bright 16″ display is sharp and easy on the eyes. Performance is smooth for daily work, and software runs reliably. Battery life is strong, lasting most of the day. Fan noise stays low, though it rises slightly under heavy tasks.

Fast little laptop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The HP OmniBook 5 16″ is a standout in its class — striking the perfect balance between performance, portability, and value. Powered by an Intel Core i5 (likely a 10-core or newer generation), it delivers a smooth and responsive experience whether you’re working on documents, browsing the web, or multitasking heavily. The 16 GB of RAM ensures that switching between apps is fluid and lag-free, while the 512 GB SSD offers fast boot times and ample storage for work files, media, and more.
Its 16″ display gives you more screen space for productivity and media, making it ideal for both work and streaming. Thanks to a lightweight chassis, the laptop remains portable despite its larger screen, and the build feels solid enough for daily use. Battery life is reported to be good — with a full day’s work within reach for many users — and fast charging (via USB-C) helps when you need a quick top-up.
Connectivity options are generous: you get a mix of modern USB-C ports (with DisplayPort), USB-A, HDMI, and Wi-Fi 6, covering pretty much anything you need for peripherals or external displays. The Full HD IR webcam is a plus for video calls.
On the downside, this laptop isn’t made for heavy-duty gaming or GPU-intensive creative work; the integrated graphics are serviceable but limited. Also, while the screen is great for productivity, its colour gamut may not impress professional designers or photographers.
In summary: The HP OmniBook 5 16″ is a well-rounded laptop — ideal for students, professionals, and anyone who needs a dependable, everyday workhorse. It offers powerful performance for productivity tasks, a roomy screen, and long battery life, all at a competitive price.
Great laptop for the money and what I use it for. Battery life is perfect for my needs - mix of university work, listening to music and watching tv/films etc, and take laptop from home to work, so gets used everyday. Screen quality is fantastic, colours and definition are crisp. Laptop is super quick, responsive and fairly lightweight. Not being a touchscreen is an added bonus as it's one less (pointless) thing to go wrong, and there is no screen glare. Keypad is backlit and feels of high quality as the keypad feels nicely damped, none of that annoying 'clicky-tappy' plastic sound. Previous HP laptop lasted 7 years so should get the same out of this one. For the money and my needs this laptop is a fantastic purchase.
