Beautiful Hood Vent!

I really love this stainless steel hood. It?? beautiful and very sleek and modern looking. With the multiple fan speeds, you can adjust it to whatever type of cooking you??e doing. It?? pretty quiet on the lower speeds, a little louder on the high speed but not annoyingly so. The grates are easily removable for cleaning and look much better than the mesh screens that most hood vents come with. It even has a clever little grease trap that?? easily removable for cleaning. Installation was fairly easy, but is definitely a two-man job due to the weight of the unit. Overall, I?? very happy with my purchase.That being said, there are several reasons for only four stars instead of five. 1) This hood vent has a plug and cord. NOWHERE on the specs does it say it?? a plug-in (unless they correct it after reading this review). I needed a hard-wired unit, not a plug and cord unit. {sigh} Luckily the Great and Mighty Kevster is a licensed electrician. He was able to hard wire the unit. But without him, I would have had to either return the unit or hire an electrician. C??on tech writers...get the dang specs right, okay? 2) The handy-dandy grease trap is nice, but it would have been nice if somewhere, ANYWHERE, in the installation instructions, it would have (a) even mentioned the part, and (b) given any hint as to its installation. This part isn?? even listed in the instructions. Again, the Great and Mighty Kevster was able to figure it out, but he shouldn?? have had to. And finally, we come to 3)...There is a laminated foil label on the side of the unit. Unfortunately, the label was too far forward and after installing the unit, about 1/3 of the label was showing. I?? not sure if all the units come like that are I just happened to get a unit with a wonky label placement. Because the Great and Mighty Kevster said there was NO WAY he was taking it back down just to remove a label, I ended up having the carefully reach between the hood and cabinet with a razor knife to carefully put a slit in the label in order to peel off the section showing. And of course, it left a mess of adhesive behind. Luckily the Great and Mighty Kevster came armed with a can of Goof Off, and I was able to remove the adhesive with a little bit of rubbing.Overall, it?? a great hood and you won?? regret this purchase. Just be aware that you can hard wire it, but it doesn?? come that way. If you don?? have access to the Great and Mighty Kevster or a licensed electrician, then you might want to rethink buying it.

Great fan

I bought this in February,a little loud but very effective. Only problem today lights and fan won?? turn on and clock is off three hours what can I do? Is this a covered sensor? Please help!!!

Works like a charm

The quality of hood is really awesome. It sucks up all the fumes released during the cooking process. I can clearly see the difference in the air quality since after installing this hood my kitchen no longer has the cooking smell or fumes. Earlier with the old hood it used to fume my kitchen even with light cooking, but no longer after this. My only challenge was with installation of this hood since it?? too heavy and also because I was a novice in this installation.Calvin has been very prompt in replies. I had a problem after my initial installation since the duct adapter that came with the hood was big enough leaving quite a bit of gap between wall and the hood. After I contacted the customer service. Calvin promptly replied and immediately sent me a new adapter which was smaller than previous one and that made the hood go flush with the wall. Now it looks perfect. I would definitely recommend this hood to anyone looking to upgrade their hoods.

Hauslane 36" Under Cabinet Range Hood PS18

We are in the beginning stages of our kitchen update. One part of this is replacing the very old and outdated range insert. We needed one that looked great, was built well and had a variety of CFM/fan options. Cleaning was also a factor in our buying decision. The Hauslane 36" hood met our needs and then some! The hood was packed well and delivered safely. Tested the unit and everything works fine. The 6 speed fan will be put to good use as we do A LOT of cooking! Easy cleanup too with the removable filters! Hope to share more photos when we are finished with the update.

Product works great, cleans out cooking odors as compared to the one I had. The width of the hood says 36" but it is about 3/4" to 1" smaller than the hood we had.

Very happy with this purchase and recommend it highly. It looks terrific, the fan motor is tremendous in this thing, the dishwasher safe steel filter baffles are great and unexpected at this price. We've tested it with a few smoky preparations since we installed it and it really pulls all the smoke and steam you ask it to handle; even from the front burners. The fan is not too noisy either. The two LED lamps illuminate the work area perfectly and with a nice warm light, and is thrown even a bit onto the counters on either side of my range which is great. I do wish you could dim or lower the light to a more ambient setting when not cooking but it's not so bright to bother really. A dark stainless steel option would be nice too but the design is so sleek that it blends in perfectly well and really has added a nice element to our new kitchen. The shipping was quick, it arrived in perfect condition with all the parts and manual. The only negative thing I can say is how dang hard it was to to get to the two rear screws, it was kinda frustrating, but be prepared with a 6-8" extension on your screw gun and it'll be ok. Again I am extremely pleased with the look and performance and would buy it again without any reservations.

A very contemporary, smart looking range hood

This range hood is a very sharp looking, stainless steel, sleek machine that delivers great suction at a reasonable noise level. The 3 under hood lights provide plenty of light too. Very easy hood to operate with the icons right in the front of the hood. Relatively easy to install and the installation manual was very clear.
