Exceeds expectations

We were looking for a high CFM unit that vented through the wall and this unit fit the bill. However it turned out to be a better than expected product. The baffles are easy to clean and the unit works wonderfully! Looks great too.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and after using it for a couple of times I'm impressed by the build quality and it's suction power. It is significantly quite compared to it's suction capacity. The steel used is commercial grade and sturdy. Very easy to clean and maintain.

I bought this one month ago and it's a beautiful looking hood fan but it's loud even on the lower speeds. The other drawback is it doesn't capture the steam well when using the two front burners.

Had it installed a few wks ago. We replaced a microwave/fan with it. Significant improvement. Well made, operates flawlessly. Great to look at too.
Only drawback, it sticks out about 5" further than the microwave did, though mounted a bit higher. You have to watch you head when you are around it, cooking, cleaning, etc. My wife has already hit her head on a corner... ouch ! We will have it moved up about 4-5" and that should remedy the problem, but adds to labor and expense. We think worth it.

I have only had it installed for about 5 days. So far it has meet all expectations and I am very pleased with it. I was concerned that it would be to loud on high speed but it is surprisingly relatively quiet. The only thing that bugs me a little, is that you have to push the on/off button in order to turn the light on. It would be nice to turn the light on separately without having the display on. With the aid of a couple of car scissor jacks, the installation was not very difficult.

Way better than expected!

I bought the 36 inch PS-18 undercabinet model a couple of years ago to use in my outdoor kitchen above the barbeque. I know it's not intended for outdoor use, but its stainless steel and a third of the price of a barbeque specific exhaust hood, so I decided to chance it.
Let me tell you, this thing is powerful. It really does move air, and does a fantastic job of clearing the smoke! The 6" vent is ducted straight up through the roof overhang and it's quite entertaining for guests to see the cloud of smoke being shot up into the sky!
I initiallly bought this based on the specs. Two fans and a big number of cfm. I thought the more, the better, and I am all to well aware of all the wimpy excuses of exhaust fans that are out there with big claims. However, this unit lives up to the promise. It does all that it promised and then some. The lights are a nice touch, and the 3 minute delayed shutdown timer is very convenient.
Also, the grease grids (mine has three of them) are easily removed and clean up pretty well in the dishwasher.
A year later, as we were remodeling our indoor kitchen, I ordered another hood from Hauslane, this one a little sleeker and a lower profile. Less powerful than the PS-18 is, but certainly powerful enough to clear our kitchen.
I've recommended these fans to whomever will listen. You can't go wrong, and if I've been able to help you make you decision, awesome!

I am replacing a GE range hood after failing in just 3 years time. The Hauslane UC-PS18 is major upgrade from the GE at basically the same price point. Super easy installation, elegant design, very quite operation (compared to the GE hood) and excellent performance. I was baking to baby back ribs in my oven for 2 hours and we could not even smell them cooking in our house, that how well this unit ventilated. Very please with our purchase.
