I have shopped a good amount of range hoods and I finally picked this one.
So far, I am satisfied. Quality seems good (it's only 2 weeks old).
I have some comments on different aspects.
Installation : my setup is with the rear rectangular duct. I found it a good challenge to put the two back screws behind the blower. They are quite well hidden, and deep.
Performance : It seems to capture fumes on a decent level. I expected more power. I find it weird that I don't feel a difference between the third speed up to the sixth speed. So, as a result, the sound is not too bad. But it doesn't really get louder after the third or fourth speed. There is at least 3 speed that I don't feel the difference. I haven't mesured it, but I expected more. Maybe I was a little bit dreaming on how it would perform.
I am not sure it is intended this way.
Also, it's not dramatic, but it beeps a lot. Every button press is a beep. It can be annoying for some people.
At first, I was aiming a Proline range hood. I'm not sure if it's a good choice either as I am quite a novice in the range hood market. But I chose Hauslane for the maintenance capability, like being able to change the lights with standard GU10 lights.

The fan is very loud on the higher speeds. Also I wish they had a dimmer on the light because it's very bright. Other than that it's very well made and sturdy.

I'm an enthusiastic home cook, but my house never had proper kitchen ventilation before. After much research, I bought the UC-PS18, and it has made frying things, or searing meat so much less of a hassle. It works perfectly.

New Hood after 42 years ...

After 42 years we needed a new hood. My husband picked this hood out. It's nice looking and we installed it ourselves. It took a few hours to do it but only because we had to redo the venting above. It all came out nicely! We like the lighting and the 6 speeds on the fans. We choose white due to our other appliances being white. Thanks!
