Top of the line vent hood. No regrets!!

Being in the appliance repair for over 38 years. I have to say that this purchase was the best thing I ever did for my kitchen, plus my house. I've installed many vent hoods bought from big box stores, including ones I bought for myself. But was never pleased with the removal of smoke and smell of what I was cooking from the house. But I will assure you that this vent hood will keep all smoke & smells out of the house. I've already braised a couple of steak on high heat and a Cast Iron pan which creates a lot of smoke and smell. In a galley kitchen and I will tell you no smoke or smell anywhere in the house. My wife setting in the living room can't even smell what I'm cooking. I love the fact that the vent hood can be mounted up to 30 inches above cook unit, so you got a clear view of what you're cooking. So far, I've only had to set fan speed to the 2nd speed. So very pleased with this vent hood.

Bought this over 3 years ago because we wanted a daily-use range with real suction, and it did not disappoint! The stainless steel baffles are dishwasher safe and this makes cleaning them super easy. Although we would've preferred a physical button version, the touchscreen controls are still operating perfectly. We've only had one issue with the damper but the company was quick to respond and offer support.
I would recommend this to a friend!

- The range hood has strong suction and quickly eliminates all cooking smells.even at low fan speed settings
- Easy to operate

Nice improvement over my old range hood.

The hood works great, once it is installed! I thought of several minor design improvements while I was installing it, but eventually I was able to do it. I fretted about having to raise the cabinet that it is attached to about 2.5 inches, thinking it would look too weird since the top of the cabinets would no longer be level, but it actually looks fine. (I had to raise it in order to meet the (almost) 30" space requirement above the gas range top.) The design element that could be improved is the placement of the support screw holes, especially the one in the back right, next to the hole for the cord. I see no reason for those back support screws to be placed slightly behind the fans! Also, I've never installed a range hood before, and it seems like there must be a better way for the "back flapper assembly" to be fitted into the rectangular vent hole, besides having it stick out an inch and screwed on from the back (which of course must be done prior to installation.) Why not have a piece that can be installed from the inside, after the hood is mounted against the wall? And speaking of that vent to the outside, I angled it downhill ever so slightly just in case there was condensed vapor and grease in the space between the walls.
Other than being a bear to install (by oneself, albeit) the hood works great. Not too noisy, good lighting, looks like it will be very easy to maintain. I kind of wish it didn't include a clock, especially with flashing dots -- way too many LEDs in the kitchen!
