Decent Range Hood

We purchased this outdoor-venting range hood to replace an aging indoor-venting ductless range hood in our home. The stainless steel build quality is very good/sturdy and the noise levels are acceptable. Installation was a bit of a chore since we had to create a vent to the outside of our home, but I'm glad that we did because the Hauslane range hood has dramatically improved the air flow in our kitchen. Having said that, I was expecting a bit more suction from this unit but it works way better than our old ductless range hood. The LED lights are great! The touch panel is a little tricky to use at times, requiring multiple touches in just the right spots to set the clock or turn-on the lights/fans. Overall we are pleased with this Hauslane product.

Recently had it installed by my contractor and he said it was very easy and the instructions were well written. I probably could of done it myself but he was doing my kitchen over anyway so he installed it in like 15 minutes. The exhaust is twice as strong as my old one, and very quiet. I love the new version of this fixture because it now comes with LED lights. They can't be dimmed but who cares they are LED's. The bulbs can be bought anywhere if and when they burn out. The filters are stainless steel and this was very important to me because the stove fire we had melted my previous one because the frames of the filters were made out of plastic. That was one of the most important features and along with the great reviews that made me purchase this. It looks stunning, but I must say if you are very Tall you may hit your head on the corners of the hood because it comes out about 2 inches more than my previous one did. My contractor who is 6"1" hit his head, and I did once but now I don't bend into the cooking area as far and It hasn't happened again. (you only have to do it once and you become pre-destined, you won't do it again trust me) . My wife who is 5'3" has never even come close to the corners, only us tall folks 5'10" and taller have to be careful. But the larger hood surface must really help in the exhaust capabilities so its worth it. I must say I couldn't be more pleased with this Hauslane Range Hood. Also when I called about the lights the customer support was super helpful and kind. Worth every one of the five stars!!!!!

Love this hood vent!! It does tend to get loud past the 4th setting, however it has amazing power and everything tends to get louder, the harder it works! My old one was much louder and didn't work nearly as well!! Installation was a hard wire, make sure you have an electrician.Great product for the money!

I bought this to replace the existing microwave with built in vent. Everything worked out good but I wish the back vent can be adjustable. Mine existing was a little high so I installed the venting in the back upside down

I have been using this product for the past 3 weeks - satisfied with the overall look and efficiency. The noise level is higher than I had expected and it seemed like the left fan was blowing air out instead of sucking it in... but still overall, this is better in venting efficacy than the 200 CFM microwave vent we were previously using.My disappointment has been in the digital display - a couple of weeks into use, the last digit seems to be missing it?? top half - so a nine would display as a five or an eight would look like 6. I did not expect that to give out so soon! Planning to reach out to the company to see what they can do about this. Will update rating based on that.Follow up: Spoke with Calvin - very helpful and quick about sending a replacement display unit; something about the display unit I had on my vent hood possibly was missed in QA testing. I was not too happy about having to replace this after the fact because it is a little tedious. There is a you-tube video to assist and it is doable, but in general no one expects to have to do that post-installing a brand new appliance. It also takes some skill to get it aligned as perfectly as the company installed unit. It would be ideal if this piece was tested thoroughly before being installed on the unit.For the vent issue, Clavin suggested that I remove the damper on the unit (the piece where the vent pipe attaches; the piece that swivels open or closed when you turn the hood on/off). This again, this is information you want BEFORE you've finished installing the vent and cabinetry around the hood/vent. This update cost me more money and some repair work to my cabinetry. This is information that should in my opinion, be included in the installation manual.While I feel strongly about both of the issues I had, I am only taking off one-star because I feel like the vent hood is doing the job I expected - I can fry in my kitchen and not feel like we've fumigated the house with oil! Also, most cooking smells are eliminated - if you like to cook / stir fry with red onions, you will still smell them - I feel this has more to do with the onions than the vent though.The other
