The fan works great. It is quiet as I expected. I installed with the top air duct connection maybe that helps the air flow. No bad smell in the kitchen after all. I only don't like is the hole plan was missing in the box so I have to measure and make a hole plan so I can drill holes precisely. Lucky I had no mistake. The metal filters have 2 colors, I guess the outside part looks better then it is OK, I hope the inside part wont rush after a while. After 2 years, It still working well, so I bought again for my other family member.

Really Powerful but...

This range hood was really powerful and I love it so far. The reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is whoever designed this needs be fired. While installing this, the hole for the screw and hole for the power wire are next to each other. Why does this matter?Well at the bottom of the cabinet, I have 2 edges which are about an inch bigger so have I had to cut piece of wood on each side of the cabinet and mount the hood to these. Problem is the hole for the power wire also lands on the wood piece. This is the so dumb. Also the plug for the power wire is so big that you would have to cut the whole piece of wood which would end up cutting the hole for the screw.I ended up removing the power cable from the hood power box which made it easier to slide the cable from a tiny hole. This is really a task. You need 2 people or car jack to install this. Luckily for me, I was able to remove my stove and get under the hood.

Great looking, good fan power, not too loud.

?Great experience with this hood having used it for a few weeks now. The installation instructions were very good and the unit came with all of the hardware necessary to install it. The top exhaust outlet has an adapter for either rectangular or round ducting, while the rear exhaust has a rectangular exit port. The hood itself is fairly easy to install if you have at least 2-3 people and a drill. The fan runs great, and does a really good job of pulling smoke/steam even at low speed. This hood isn?? quiet, but I also don?? think it?? too loud. For the amount of air it moves, I think the noise level is pretty good (video shows maximum fan speed). The touch controls aren?? the most responsive, but they??e fine overall. Buttons probably would be better. Overall, I?? really happy with this hood and think that it looks and operates great in my kitchen.

Good hood for the money

At full tilt it is not terribly loud, which is truly impressive for the airflow. The terrible (for a fan) microwave that it replaced was louder and was pathetic for venting the kitchen. However, there is a big difference at the low setting. While yes the microwave basically didn't move anything at low, it was very quiet, this hood is not.At lowest setting it is quieter than high, but not by very much. I recorded the SPL at Off/Speed 1/Speed 6, see 2nd picture. It was taken about a 1 meter from the fans and I used a calibrated microphone. The average ambient was 42 dB, speed 1: 65 dB, and speed 6: 72 dB. 72 is a fine number at high, but 65 is not good for low.Speaking of the microwave (typical GE over-the-range model), it was actually LIGHTER than this thing. Yes it is that hefty, which indicates the quality of materials, but it makes for a sore back post installation. The installation is further made worse by the back two screw holes being REALLY hard to get to. You need a long screwdriver, even the extension on my drill/driver wasn't enough to reach it. In the end I came up with installing the front two screws without the hood, hook the hood on the front two and have a 2nd person stabilize while you mostly tighten the front two. Then install the back two with the hood mostly stable.The last part of my review I want to discuss the hood lights. The pre-installed lights are 2700K (soft-white) 20W equivalent and fairly narrow beam (30 degrees would be my guess). Needless to say they aren't great. To compound the issue in my case, my kitchen runs 5000K (daylight) high wattage LEDs all around, so these stick out really bad. I went looking for suitable replacements, and started at my local orange home improvement superstore. They had the kind of bulbs I was looking for (4th picture), but to my surprise they didn't fit! They were the right size MR16, and base GU10, but they were too short to be able to twist in the socket (see picture 3 for included bulb). I eventually went digging all around the internet, and found some that worked, just barely. I'm not going to link them, because I'm not entirely happy with them either. They are much brighter, wider, and 5000K so good enough, and they are included in picture 1.

We replaced Hauslane 36??from GE Profile. It is a whole new world in our kitchen and home. Hauslane is high efficiency no more cooking smells and greasy kitchen. It was super easy to install. The product is beautiful and fitting perfect in our kitchen.

Just installed it a few days ago, so far so good. The hood has a plug instead of hard wired. We had to make an outlet for it. We had the duct in the back and the adapter that it came with for the back is way too long for to go behind the wall. We modified it with the adapter that was for the top to make it work.

Could use improvement.

Nice unit. Installed ok except for the baffle unit (Top, round outlet). No instruction what so ever regard this piece. There are two rubber pieces that need to be removed and replaced AFTER you lay the baffle unit in place. There are also two rubber feet (in hindsight, I think there are supposed to be three) around the circumference of the round outlet that is supposed to keep the baffle from falling into the fan. They are useless. After several R&R of the complete unit, I am done. I will put up with the baffle hitting the fan as the fan starts and stops.
