I've had the product for two months now. It works well for us as we almost cook every day. Also it looks nice from the outside. Our contractor also bought one after he installed it.

Great Product

The product was just installed. It works very well. I replaced the halogen lights with the led lights and in my opinion, it gives more light. I thought there was a high and low for the lights, but there is only one light setting, which is just fine with me. I thought it came with a remote, but it does not. (Kids would just lose it anyways) Overall, I?? very satisfied with this product. I love the 6 speeds, lights and clock feature.

Overall, good choice

As other reviews stated, this is HEAVY. Doable, but it needs to be factored in. Absolutely should have two people to install. Not quiet but very efficient. The lowest suction is better than a conventional vent. The single disappointment, though maybe not really that important, is that there is only one light level. I have actually never seen another vent with only one light brightness and no variation. In terms of the essential, though, it is a great appliance.

Sucks in a good way ????

We really enjoy the new kitchen hood. Coming from a non vented microwave recirculating fan to this beast is night and day. The lights are bright and the controls are easy to use.Installation is pretty tough if you don?? have a 6??vent already installed out of the roof and you may need to remove your stove in order to have 2 people install the hood in the cabinetry. May need to hire a pro for a proper install.

Installed it last night,

I like the styling, features and apparent build quality. I don't like that upon lightening up I found that dual intensity lighting system doesn't work, only one level available - I've been informed the manual is out of date. The 2 level intensity settngs is for earlier generation model using halogen lamps, my unit is an upgrade the has LED lamps with single inrtensityAlso - manual leaves some things to be desired, no reference to the drip tray or how to install it and install would have been much easier if a template for the mounting screw locations was provided. How the defective light issue gets resolved.

Solid Product, Make Sure it Works for You

Overall good vent fan, solid construction and heavy duty dual fan motors and blades. The hood does indeed move alot of air, and is relatively quiet considering the significantly increased air movement over a standard unit. Unit was extremely well packaged. Here are the considerations when choosing to purchase:1. If you need to use the rear exhaust option, beware that the adapter piece requires a couple of inches to make the transition from a longer narrower rectangle to the standard rectangular size. In my installation i was not able to use the adapter and instead needed to change out the wall vent to a damper unit, and just direct couple the hood to the wall fitting.2. The stainless steel is 400 series which is a lower grade that 300 series. This only becomes important if you are trying to match the hood to a high end stove that is made from 300 series non-magnetic stainless steel. 400 series tends to have a bluish tint while 300 is more of a yellowish tint.3. The Tats is longer that the average home unit, about 4-5 inches. For me that was an advantage as it covers the stove better.4. The unit I received was produced in July 2017 but had halogen lights. I swapped them for LED but i do get some flicker on the low setting, but fine on the high setting. The unit seemed to be advertised as containing LED lights.5. There is a big sticky label on the side of the vent which takes significant effort to remove. I cant imagine why they chose to stick it there with hyper-aggressive adhesive but they did. Time for the Goof-Off.For the money I consider this unit a good value, it does seem well made and solid, and I am happy with it.

Nice unit

This is a really nice hood. It looks great and has good functionality, including 6 fan speeds, LED lights, clock and delay timer (so you can set the fan to turn off automatically). It is relatively quiet on the lower speed settings; the top 3 settings are louder, but also move a lot of air. This replaced a 42 year old GE hood that finally stopped working recently. I am glad I decided to go with this unit. As recommended, I plugged it in and checked that all the controls were working before installing. Installation took several hours. The instruction manual is pretty minimalistic, but if you know what you are doing you can install it yourself. I had to pick up a few items for the installation (a section of 3-? x 10 aluminum duct to connect the vertical outlet to my existing ductwork, aluminum duct tape, some hex head 2??#12 screws and a 6??driver extension for my drill). The rectangular vertical duct adapter supplied with the unit is too short in my opinion (the duct only extends about 1??above the top of the hood ??so it does not stick out above the bottom of the upper cabinet when installed; the mounting screws are also about ???too short). I cut the power cord, removed the strain relief, and opened up the auxilliary electrical connection hole on the back of the unit to enable a direct connection to the existing wiring in my wall.I used a car jack with several blocks of wood to raise the hood into place with a ~4??duct extension pre-attached (see photo). It was tricky to get the new duct extension to slide over the end of the existing duct. I trimmed the edges of the aluminum ??lapper??on the rectangular duct adapter so they wouldn?? catch on the old duct ends after installation. I needed help from my wife to get the wood blocks and jack in place once I hoisted the unit into position. I?? afraid some bad words were said after I struggled several times to reach up under the hood with an electric screwdriver to drive the retaining screws in place. I ended up nixing the back two screws in favor of putting one through the back of the unit into a wall stud, which was much easier and totally solid. Once installed, it worked like a dream. A dimmer on the control panel would have been nice, as would dual brightness levels on the lights. The little ding they unit makes every time you touch a button on the control panel gets old pretty quickly. Also, the control panel surface is plastic, not glass (which would have been better).

Top Quality Construction & Materials, but Installation Challenges
on March 1, 2020

I would recommend buying this product.I've only had it installed for a few weeks, but it's performance and lighting are great so far.Pros -1. Top quality construction and stainless steel.2. Easy to remove and install filter panels.3. Lights under hood are very bright and light up the cooking surface very well.4. Noise level at high fan setting isn't real loud.Cons -1. The installation was somewhat of a challenge. The four screws that hold the hood in place had to be installed prior to putting the hood in place. This required some detailed measuring so the screws were in just the right location when installing the hood. After accomplishing that task which required moving the screws several times, it is almost impossible to tighten the screws. There isn't a straight shot to the screw heads. Very frustrating. Additionally, I had to move the electrical wire exit point where it came out the top of the hood. The wire exited the top right where the hood should be able to mount flush with the cabinet. I had to drill a hole near the center of the hood near the exhaust vent pipe for the electrical supply wire to exit. This allowed for flush mounting the hood.
