The right choice for this cook

I purchased the hood 4-1/2 years ago. I love it. Since I am busy kitchen chef, keeping the house clear is important. I make pizza and occasionally there are drippings that land on the hot 500F oven bottom. Very smoky. Frying bacon smells great but the aroma needs to be exhausted. Additional note: I had to relocate and I took the unit with me. I was using the rectangle adapter on top. then I changed to the circular adapter in my new home.

Pleased with my purchase but there was an issue

We are pleased with the purchase. It's installed and working. After much research, this hood is the one I chose and I am glad I did. The four stars instead of the five stars is because when the hood was taken out of its packaging, the installer noticed a small dent, which was covered by the sticky packing tape covering it. In fairness, Hauslane responded right away and gave me the option of returning this and sending a new one, or giving me a small discount. I had to choose the discount because the kitchen work had already started, and I could not wait for a new dlivery.
This should not have happened in the first place with a company like this. Whatever (and whoever) caused the dent during packing should have addressed the issue at source. The dented part does not get in the way of the function of the hood (I think), but you can see the little unevenness in the three filter elements caused by the dented part. (I am unable to add a photo, maybe once I click submit?)

Really nice upgrade for the avid home cook.

I needed to upgrade my range hood and wanted one with baffles rather than carbon filters. This one fit the bill and did not break the budget. I tried to locate a local dealer so I could also arrange the install but could not so we contracted with another company to do that part. This hood would go in a space under overhead cabinets. Our old hood was hard wired and this one has a plug in so that adjustment had to be made; something to consider for your space. Our existing exhaust vented directly to the rear and outside so having multiple install options is also a good thing. So far the hood performs admirably, the lights are bright and it cleans easily; I cook a lot. As I am sensitive to sound I was hoping it would be a bit quieter but the lowest setting is ok. Never thought I would have need of it but I actually really like the count down timer so that the unit shuts off the fan and light at 3 minute default setting or a time you set. When I have finished cooking, I hit the timer and walk away. The fan finishes removing the odors and shuts itself off.

Sleek and Powerful!

We ordered the UC-PS18 36" matte black under cabinet range hood. It was delivered on time, we installed it and it fits perfect. This is an awesome and powerful range hood! We've only had it a few days but it's already a major improvement from the Broan we previously used. A great investment!!

I love this hood vent! It looks very sleek. The time is always showing, which I like. Press the power button, and you have access to the light and the variable speed vent. The 2 lights are nice and bright, and cover the entire cooking area. A lower, nite-lite option would be nice, but not necessary in my kitchen. The 6 speeds available are sure to cover any need. Even the lowest speed sucks a paper napkin up to the baffles. The highest speed is still quiet, and doesn't interfere w/conversations. There is a delay-off timer that I have not used yet, that allows the vent to keep operating for a few minutes after your done cooking. Unfortunately, the only other way to turn off the vent is to hit the power button, which also turns off the overhead light. I have to hit the power button again, and then turn the light back on.
TIP: If you're installing it under a recessed cabinet, like I did, you'll need to fill the recessed cabinet before installing the hood. That took extra time, and materials we weren't expecting but we had enough scrap wood to make it work.
Much stronger, much quieter, and much better lighting than my previous microwave/hood combo. I am a happy camper!

Hood looks fantastic and really updated our kitchen. We replaced our microwave with the hood, and the microwave was not vented outside, so we added a vent and connected the hood. Was easy to install with two of us. Matches perfectly with our stove —very happy with the outcome!

Great hood

Bought the Hauslane for over my Thermador Professional range. Perfect design coordination, perfect function, and a great price. Love the stainless fins sloped to the removable grease tray. This hood is for professional cooks with all tge smoke and grease that goes with a serious food prep. No Barbie make believe.
