I have yet to finish my kitchen remodel and put the UC-PS18 to the real test. I have no doubt it will stand to the test!

Purchased this unit over 2 years ago and has easily been the best purchase I've made for a kitchen. Very high powered, keeps my kitchen clean, and was easy to install. If you are looking for best externally exhausted type fan, this brand is the way to go. Needed to replace a gasket while I was doing a clean. Called the company and got a hold of someone within minutes. Provided all the info, and got me the replacement piece. Amazing. Hard to find companies still providing that level of service.

This is my second Hauslane unit! I liked the one I have at home so when I find out my parents hood system failed I knew we need to replace it with a hauslane unit. Such a big improvement over their old unit

Not perfect but it helps

Allow some time to get this installed. Recently, we had the hood installed by a handyman- he had to first remove our microwave, then run a duct up through the cabinet and along the dining room wall to vent it outside. He finished in 3 days, including repainting the wall from the kitchen out to the vent. The next thing is replacing the tile where the microwave was, because the hood is smaller than the microwave was. But the vent is great. We used it while cooking steaks and the smoke alarm did not go off, but somehow it did with a salmon burger. So, it is not perfect, but it helps.

Fits right where the old Chef's series went.

This was our second chef series hood. It fit right in where the old one was installed. It is definitely an improvement over the old one. A small thing, but very important one, is the control panel. The old control panel was a cheap decal that wore off in a year or so. The new one is led and much better. We were delayed getting ours installed because of a medical situation, but it has been in for a week now. We like it a lot.

We bought our range hood over a year ago and absolutely love it. Easy to install. Quiet and still powerful on lowest setting. Lights are soft on the eyes with full coverage over the cook top. Sleek modern design and quality craftsmanship. Cleaning is easy with the auto clean function and drip tray. Touch pad operation is simple and convenient.

Great Hood needs a little tweaking to be better.

I have hventing everything on the stovead this for almost a month now and it does a very good job at venting everything on the stove, very powerful unit. A couple of observations to make this better in my opinion would be to move the rear right mounting hole away from the cutout for the electrical connection. When you cut that area out to get into the cabinet above it left a gap between the top of the hood and the bottom of the cabinet. It would be a better stronger mount if that screw pulled the hood up against solid wood. I also am dissappointed that in the dark the power button isn't lighted. You have to feel around in the dark for the power button and once you turn that on you have to turn on the light. How about leaving at least one of these buttons backlit so it can be found in the dark.
