Contemporary, clean design with easy to use controls. Multiple exhaust speeds and ample light above stove! Easy to remove and clean filters!

I am replacing a GE range hood after failing in just 3 years time. The Hauslane UC-PS18 is major upgrade from the GE at basically the same price point. Super easy installation, elegant design, very quite operation (compared to the GE hood) and excellent performance. I was baking to baby back ribs in my oven for 2 hours and we could not even smell them cooking in our house, that how well this unit ventilated. Very please with our purchase.

Had it installed a few wks ago. We replaced a microwave/fan with it. Significant improvement. Well made, operates flawlessly. Great to look at too.
Only drawback, it sticks out about 5" further than the microwave did, though mounted a bit higher. You have to watch you head when you are around it, cooking, cleaning, etc. My wife has already hit her head on a corner... ouch ! We will have it moved up about 4-5" and that should remedy the problem, but adds to labor and expense. We think worth it.

I bought this one month ago and it's a beautiful looking hood fan but it's loud even on the lower speeds. The other drawback is it doesn't capture the steam well when using the two front burners.

The fan is very loud on the higher speeds. Also I wish they had a dimmer on the light because it's very bright. Other than that it's very well made and sturdy.

I have shopped a good amount of range hoods and I finally picked this one.
So far, I am satisfied. Quality seems good (it's only 2 weeks old).
I have some comments on different aspects.
Installation : my setup is with the rear rectangular duct. I found it a good challenge to put the two back screws behind the blower. They are quite well hidden, and deep.
Performance : It seems to capture fumes on a decent level. I expected more power. I find it weird that I don't feel a difference between the third speed up to the sixth speed. So, as a result, the sound is not too bad. But it doesn't really get louder after the third or fourth speed. There is at least 3 speed that I don't feel the difference. I haven't mesured it, but I expected more. Maybe I was a little bit dreaming on how it would perform.
I am not sure it is intended this way.
Also, it's not dramatic, but it beeps a lot. Every button press is a beep. It can be annoying for some people.
At first, I was aiming a Proline range hood. I'm not sure if it's a good choice either as I am quite a novice in the range hood market. But I chose Hauslane for the maintenance capability, like being able to change the lights with standard GU10 lights.
