Great range hood, installation not easy

This is a fantastic range hood. Best by far that I have ever owned. I replaced an over the range microwave with this hood and the difference is night and day. Installation isn't a breeze and the unit is heavier than you would expect. Sound ar high speed is a little louder than expected, but I think it would be used little at high speed because suction is so good. Installation would have been easier if a template was provided. The unit is mounted with #10 wood screws but, going into my oak cabinet, the holes must be predrilled before mounting. This is impossible with difficult access to the mounting holes. I would recommend making your own template and predicting holes. Also, for the manufacturer, I would be a nice upgrade to have two level lighting.

My new PS18 undercabinet range hood is just what my kitchen needs. It looks great, has great suction, and the fan is fairly quiet.

Hauslane - UC-PS18 - Works Great!

This under-cabinet range hood has been a solid upgrade and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Performance-wise, it works pretty well and met my expectations across the board. It has three different duct venting options, which made it flexible for our setup, and the multiple fan speeds are genuinely useful rather than just decorative settings. On the lower speeds it’s relatively quiet for everyday cooking, and when you bump it up, it moves a noticeable amount of air.
The built-in light is better than I expected. It provides good, even illumination over the cooktop and is bright enough to actually be useful while cooking, not just a token accent light.
Installation was fairly straightforward, but I’d strongly recommend having a second person to help. It’s manageable, but awkward to hold and align solo. In our case, we were replacing a combination microwave and range hood, so there was some extra work involved. We needed to install stainless steel sheets to cover the exposed wall area left behind by the microwave, which isn’t the hood’s fault but is something to plan for if you’re doing a similar replacement.
Overall, there’s really nothing negative to say. It works as expected, feels well-built, and does its job without surprises. If you’re looking for a reliable under-cabinet range hood with flexible venting options, good lighting, and solid performance, this one delivers exactly that.

Difficult to install, but beautiful vent hood.

Installation is tricky, since you need to get 4 screws in the exact right place working overhead. Best done with two people. Also the vent exhaust requires a very tight elbow since it's close to the wall. But when all done, it works and looks beautiful !

I mounted the 36” hood yesterday so it’s not yet in production. I did test out all the functions and it’s a huge improvement over my previous hood.

This vent looks so nice in my kitchen. It makes it look modern and clean. I didn’t even know the vent can be hidden in the cabinet for a more modern look until I came across this one and it’s perfect. Not only does it look good, but it works really well too!

I replaced my under the counter microwave with the Hauslane UC-PS18. It is a very sturdy and well built range hood and the air flow is amazing. With the fan on my old under the counter microwave, I had to do any searing or heavy grilling outside, the PS18 handles the smoke from searing and grilling beautifully and lingering cooking smells are a thing of the past. I am very happy with this purchase. Good work Hauslane !!
