This is my 2nd HP Printer. I just had tor retire my first printer (about 12 years old!) and even though it still worked, it did not have the interface/mechanics (?) to work with new modem and new HP computer I just purchased for WIndows 11. This one is very nice --sleek design, fits on my printing cart, printing is clear and crisp and really nice professional output on all my printing jobs. I am grateful for those attributes as they are important to my small home business. However, the older printer was simple, easy to use and read. This one has an electronic panel that shows you all the functions ( way more than what I need to know) but others might find very useful. It was a breeze to set-up--just follow the very well written directions. I like using a cable rather than wifi, but you need to set it up with wifi and then switch over to cable --this is per the directions for set-up. I am not a tech person at all and I set up both the 1st printer and this one thanks to the printer model and well written steps. I am so happy with the professional quality work this printer is generating! May it last as long as its predecessor!
It is an excellent printer with superb printing. However, I find figuring out how to make copies or scan directly from the printer itself very difficult. There were no instructions and the glass menu was very confusing.
My experience with this printer has been very disappointing. It started with difficulty getting setup help. It took me an entire day to setup this printer. Using paper of different sizes is also frustrating. The latest issue is, for some reason, the printer does not work when I have laptop VPN enabled. I currently have no issue printing to my older HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 when VPN is enabled. This will be the last HP printer I buy.
The printer will not stay connected to the computer and must be reconnected continuously. The Smart HP is too smart and apparently thinks for it’s self
