[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While there are options for USB-A and USB-C, it is not backwards compatible. I bought this to be able to easily switch out my 2 laptops but this doesn't work with my old laptop. It works great, if your computer is brand new.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great improvement over my previous dock which I had paired with an Acer laptop. That dock did not provide the ability to start or wake the laptop from sleep, which meant I had to crack open the laptop just a bit whenever I wanted to use it. This one connected to my HP Pavilion Gaming laptop, can start or wake the PC and I don't have to open the lid. That's a huge gain for me. Plenty of port options for my peripherals, too. The only reason it doesn't rate a five star is that it doesn't appear to actually provide power to the laptop so I still need to plug the computer into AC power.
