Not impressed with this desk mat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When looking for a desk mat I’d look for something high quality that looked nice in texture and color was easy to write on and looked minimalistic in my space. However I was not impressed with this desk mat. It has a very inexpensive look to it so it doesn’t elevate the space. It is very padded so it feels like it was built for more comfort than functionality as the squishiness makes it difficult to write on. Additionally it has a strong smell that is not dissipating. It is also a little large for my preference. I will say that it is indeed anti-slip - it stays in place and doesn’t slide around. It is also helpful to organize a space. Pros: -A helpful way to organize my things -It stays in place and doesn’t slide around -It feels soft to the touch Cons: -I don’t like the color or texture - it looks cheap to me. It is clearly fake leather however I would prefer it had a more upscale look and feel -It has an off-putting chemical smell to it that hasn’t completely gone away even after having it out -The size is a little too large for my preference. I am a little more of a minimalist and am a little overwhelmed by the large size. -Difficult to write on due to how soft and squishy it is Overall I was not impressed with the quality of this desk mat and probably would not recommend it to others.

Attractive and great quality mat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Staples Brown Faux Leather Desk Mat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel to review and I have been pleasantly surprised by both the look and quality of this mat. It’s soft and comfortable thick enough for protection of the surface below and stays put on the desk surface. My only “con” is that the color didn’t blend as well as I’d hope. Would love to see this with a blend of browns to give it a higher end look and to blend more seamlessly against natural wood.

I have gotten several compliments. It’s sleek and stylish. If you have a smaller work space you may want to opt for a smaller size!

Great addition to my desk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This desk mat has been great for my desk. It fits perfectly and makes it easier to use the mouse anywhere on the mat. I’m a busy kindergarten teacher and often have trouble keeping things tidy. This has made my space look nice and clutter free.

No frills but effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are lots of decorative pretty desk mats on the market - this is pretty basic as far as aesthetics go but it has lots of functional benefits that I’ve been really enjoying. It’s thick so it provides a nice cushion to rest my wrists on while I’m typing. It has a grippy back to prevent it from sliding around my desk’s surface. It will prevent scratches/pen marks on my white desk. Finally (and perhaps my favorite thing) is that it doubles as a mouse pad. Great product and I would highly recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Staples Black Fabric Desk Mat as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have a wood desk so I was in the market for a desk mat to protect my desk. Aesthetically this mat looks like black neoprene which isn’t really my style but I was hopeful about its functionality. I sit at a computer all day but I also hand write notes and sketch at my desk so I wanted something that would be nice for writing on. This may is way too squishy to write on comfortably and if you press too hard you’ll stab a hole through your paper. So not only did it not improve how it felt to write on my desk then I to stick a note or book under my paper to be sure I wasn’t poking holes through it. Additionally it is extremely difficult to remove erasure bits from the mat so it looks dirty constantly. So my stars are because the mat does protect my wood desk but it makes writing tasks a pain and looks terrible if you erase on it.
